Research On Urban Space Renewal Strategies In Design Competitions From The Perspective Of Eco-urbanism

At the age of Inventory Planning,ecological overload and degradation are key issues during the process of urban development and renewal.Traditional methodology of urban renewal finds itself not capable enough in resolving this ecological issue in metropolitan context.“Ecological Urbanism” has been proposed as a response to the issue.On the other hand,as experiment plots for vanguards where the most forward ideas,strategies and methodologies are gathered,design competitions have become an experiment and communication platform for “Ecological Urbanism”.Therefore,by reviewing some important design competitions on “Ecological Urbanism” in the last few years,the article will refine ideas and strategies to reveal practical urban renewal.Firstly,the article reviews the transformation of the ideas and attentions of the recent competitions on Ecology Urbanism and discusses the relationship between the changing topics and development on theory and technology.Secondly,through general induction and analysis on diverse urban renewal strategies showed in design competitions,combining with present theoretical research on future urban environment,the article summarizes four trends on urban spatial renewal: from“globalization” to “localization”,from “concentration” to “distribution”,from“tradition” to“internet”,from “single strategy” to “integrated reconstruction”.Meanwhile,based on these trends,three kinds of innovative strategies on urban spatial renewal strategies are proposed: combining “group distribution” and “resource integration”,combining “resource production” and “information consumption”,combining “local produce” and “internet global”.Finally,through specific case study on competition topics and proposals,the article explore the concreteness and flexibility of urban spatial strategies in competition on topic of Ecology Urbanism.The article comprehensively analyzes urban spatial renewal strategies in competition on Ecology Urbanism.It deduces innovative strategies and methodologies to adapt to urban spatial renewal in the future.It reveals the current trends of urban renewal and its key features.Finally,it explores the practical significant of innovative urban spatial renewal through design application cases.Wishing that the research above can provide new ideas for planning theories,methodologies and practices in term of urban renewal and development at the age of inventory planning.
