Research On The Design Of Urban Waterfront Landscape Renewal

The waterfront district refers to the dockland area,or the area alongside a body of water in a city.Being an important part of the urban public open space,it not only provides the citizens with a place for leisure and entertainment,but also assumes the main function of showing the image of the city.In recent years,urban waterfront district has become a focal point in modern city planning and construction.However,some old waterfront districts that have been built years ago is now facing with the problem of loss of function and disrepair under the influence of globalization.In this case,taking the waterfront landscape renewal design of Fenghu Park in Rizhao as the research object,this thesis analyzed and redesigned the waterfront district of Qingfeng Lake Park through researching domestic and foreign literature on waterfront landscape renewal design.From a systematic point of view,considering both theories and practice,a more reasonable approach is proposed for the main problems mentioned with this park’s renewal design.The results of the study are as follows:(1)Firstly,the theories and methods of renewal design was reviewed and discussed in order to determine the key position and important role of the waterfront district.Secondly,through field investigation and the environmental characteristics analysis of Qingfeng Lake Park,the designing method of the park’s waterfront district renewal is summarized,which is mainly reflected in environmental harmonization,local culture,and integration of humanistic ideas.(2)Combining the theories proposed,on the basis of the problems of landscape renewal design of Fenghu Park in Rizhao,this thesis renewed the design from the aspects of ecological environment,urban service functions,and diverse spaces.In terms of ecological environment,this thesis proposed that the design should focus on the construction of green corridors;As for the service functions,it is further proposed that space design should focus on the shaping and construction of diversified spaces(mainly focused on natural space,hydrophilic space,pedestrian space,characteristic space,etc.)and the renewal of the landscaping elementsIn the second half of this thesis,based on the summary of the first half part,the principles and methods proposed in this article are used to renew the design of the Qingfeng Lake Park waterfront in Rizhao,Shandong.This design includes the new design and planning of Waterfront Landscape 、 landscaping elements、ancillary facility.Hopefully,the redesigned waterfront landscape district could not only increase the unique urban charm of Rizhao,Shandong,but also reactivate the landscape space in this area,therefore providing a better leisure and entertainment space for the citizens in general.
