Design Researches Upon Miao-minority Representative Festivals And Artistic Elements In Xijiang Miao Village Of Guizhou Province

Located in Guizhou Province,Xijiang Miao Village is the largest Miao-minority inhabited village throughout China and even the world.It has a long history,a rich Miao-minority cultural heritage,as well as various ethnic festivals.Among them,the festival held each 12 years-GU Zang Festival and the annually-held Miao’s New Year have also developed into the important ethnic cultural and tourism resources therein.By taking the 2 representative festivals of Xijiang Miao Village,namely GU Zang Festival and Miao’s New Year,as the research background,this paper better extracted those representative artistic elements from the above 2 festivals.And with a variety of artistic expressions from illustrations,it conducted a series of artistic treatments accordingly and applied them into practical designs for multiple tourism cultural and creative products.Firstly,it sorted out and summarized respective cultural connotations,origins,festival ceremonies and related activities of the above 2festivals.Secondly,it investigated the current situation of tourism products in Xijiang Miao Village and summarized corresponding design principles.Finally,by visually extracting multiple representative elements within these festivals,combining with actual market demands,as well as applying them to specific designs for related cultural and creative products.With comparison of the design ways for traditional tourism products,all the ideas and design ways applied for extracting artistic elements therein are relatively innovative.Through the carrier – tourism cultural and creative product,this paper aims to convey specific festival cultural connotations to a wide range of tourists.This is of great significance for spreading the folk culture with Miao characteristics,promoting the in-depth integration of cultural and tourism development,and promoting the development of local tourism economy.
