Research On The "In-site" Design Of International Student Apartments Under The Background Of Cultural Integration

In the context of global cultural integration,the international education level of colleges and universities has been developing rapidly,and the number of international students in China has shown a large-scale surge in the past two decades.According to statistics from the Ministry of Education,there were 492,185 foreign students from 196 countries and regions in 2018,and 1,004 institutions of higher learning in China received foreign students.China has become the largest destination for overseas students in Asia.With the increase of the number of international students,while the cultural integration,the daily activities of international students also caused by the complex multicultural conflicts are increasingly prominent,the traditional international student apartment is facing many problems and challenges.The first problem to be solved in the design of international students’ apartment is how to integrate into the campus environment and realize the dynamic relationship with the campus that is complementary and beneficial to each other.The second problem is how to effectively avoid conflicts in the daily activities of international students with multicultural backgrounds and form the situation of benign cultural integration.This paper tries to jump out of the pluralistic discourse system model,using "in" the way to solve the problem of multiculturalism in the local environment,put forward independent and fusion of student apartment design goal,create a strong adaptability for foreign students,inclusive of apartment buildings,culture exchange is realized in seeking common ground while putting aside differences,to form a good circulation of international communication and cooperation of colleges and universities,thus improve the comprehensive competitive reputation.This paper studies the design theory and targeted strategies of the foreign student apartment as a specific object from the perspective of "locality".The conclusions are as follows:1)On the ground adaptation level: the overall layout is integrated into the campus structure based on the relevance between the site and the international students’ apartment,the building coexists with the natural terrain conditions,and ADAPTS to the local climate characteristics in a coordinated way to form a physical layout that integrates into the site.2)On the level of local integration: put forward a space construction method suitable for multicultural integration from the perspective of users,which is embodied in a variety of independent residential unit patterns formed from the perspective of the differentiation of overseas students’ lives;The communication space of the international student apartment is optimized based on group identity.Improvement measures of supporting functional space based on group demand.3)On the ground construction level: "in the ground" construction method is adopted to solve the multicultural problems in the local environment,which is mainly manifested in the reasonable alienation of the local materials and modern materials;The improvement and appropriate use of local technologies and new and high technologies;Through public participation and the time mode of "underground stem",a multi-party cooperative and accompanying construction is formed.
