The precipitation in Ordos Basin is less and the evaporation is strong. The groundwater in the Cretaceous Groundwater Basin is an important source of water for people’s life and industrial production. However, due to the influence of gypsum and other minerals in the stratum, the groundwater in some areas belongs to neutral weak alkaline water with high mineralization, and the content of sulfate and fluoride in the groundwater exceeds the national drinking water standard. With the rapid development of economy, the economic and social development of some parts of Ordos Basin is not in harmony with the development of water resources.Water shortage has become an important factor restricting the local economic development. In order to solve the problem of lack of local water resources, this paper studies the purification of water quality by using analcite which is widely distributed in the basin.Analcite is a kind of zeolite mineral group. There are a large number of pores in its own structure, with large specific surface area, good adsorption capacity, and potential value of preparing water purification materials. It has been widely used in the field of water treatment and catalysis. However,as the natural analcite channel is easily blocked by impurities in water, its ability to deal with pollutants in water can be improved by modification.Previous studies have shown that analcite is relatively developed in the Cretaceous system of Ordos Basin, and there have been relevant literature reports on analcite in the basin, mainly analyzing its petrological and mineralogical properties and characteristics, with less research data on its diagenesis mechanism. In this paper, the samples of the Cretaceous analcite in Ordos Basin were studied. The size of the voids, porosity and chemical composition of the samples were analyzed by using thin sections,X-ray diffractometer and electron probe microanalysis. In this paper, the analcite bearing rocks collected in the field of Ordos Basin are taken as the research object, and the analcite raw ore, selected analcite ore and modified analcite ore are used to remove sulfate and fluoride in water respectively The best modification scheme and the most suitable adsorption process conditions for the purification of groundwater quality in the basin were determined by comparison. The results show that:(1)The best technological conditions of modified analcite are as follows: select 100-120 mesh treated analcite concentrate powder and put it into muffle furnace, bake it at 400 ℃ for3.0h,take it out and put it into drying bottle for cooling, then put it into 2.0mol/l aluminum chloride solution for soaking for 12 h,take it out and put it into muffle furnace for roasting at400 ℃ for 3.0h,put it into drying bottle for standby after cooling in furnace.(2)In the static adsorption experiment, when the amount of rock and soil and the initial concentration are the same, the best order of adsorption effect for sulfate and fluoride is modified analcite ore, selected analcite ore and analcite ore.(3)The results show that under dynamic condition, when the initial concentration of sulfate solution is less than 3500 mg / L,the adsorption effect of modified analcite is better;when the initial concentration of fluoride solution is less than 8.0mg/l,the adsorption effect of modified analcite is better. At the end of the paper, the further development and utilization of the Cretaceous analcite in Ordos Basin are briefly discussed.
