Taxi drivers are one of the most prominent influencers when we talk about the traffic studies and particularly while our focus is driving behavior. In this thesis,we studied the driving behavior of taxi drivers based upon three scales i.e Driving behavior questionnaire,Driving anger scale and Just word scale. Our prime criteria to test these scales is experience of drivers.Driving behavior questionnaire is one of the most widely used questionnaire to test the driving behavior in three dimensions i.e errors, violations and lapses. The purpose to use this scale is its worldwide reliability and being used in numerous studies which help us to relate our study with the previous research conducted in this area. The second scale that we used in this study is driving anger scale. This scale help us to test the behavior of drivers when they came across different scenarios of violations and other factors like illegal driving, discourtesy, presence of police, hostile gestures being displayed by others drivers and the third scale is just word scale which reflects the mental satisfaction level of a particular driver because when a person is not feeling contented he is more prone to exhibit aggressive behaviors.Total 373 drivers were participated in the survey and they were asked to complete the task voluntarily. After scrutiny and removing outliers, data was analyzed using SEM and Loess method.SEM model shows that the police presence effects more the driving behavior of drivers and drivers tends to drive more safely in the presence of police.Further analysis using loess method reveals the same result about police presence PBJWF and also exhibits that Errors,Violations and lapses tends to increase at the start and after reaching a specific driving experience, drivers tends to show a decrease in aggressiveness in their driving behavior. |
