Conservation And Revitalization Of Traditional Villages In The Perspective Of Smart Shrinkage Theory

With the structural transitions of the urban structure and the decline of the overall population growth rate in rapid urbanization,the shrinking problems in different regions of China have gradually become prominent for years.The shrinking of rural areas as an output place for population resources in the process of urbanization has getting become an inevitable trend.In history,villages as the base with historical relics,where numerous collisions between the traditional cultural preservation and the avant-garde lives transformation raised incurs overwhelmingly outstanding shrinking problem.As a result,it is imperative to discover the causes of shrinkage based on a quantitative analysis on the traditional villages,and putting forward a couple of exact strategies based on the smart shrinkage perspective,which can be beneficial to meet the need of protection and renewal in urgent situation.The basic concept of smart shrinkage is based on maintaining the vitality of the community and improving the operating efficiency,paying a great amount of attention to the sustainable driving force towards the regulation of regional development and reasonable scale.According to the traditional villages in central and southern of Hebei status quo,the loss of population in village is inevitable due to the natural trend of urbanization and siphon effect which can be seen in Beijing,Tianjin,Shijiazhuang and Xiong’an as well.With limited resources elements of smart shrinkage,the pursuit for intensive and effective development through proactive adjustment can be helpful to those traditional villages in crises adapting the shrinking trend and strengthening the protection of cultural heritage,so as to develop their own society dependency and economy sustainably.From the perspective of smart shrinkage,the research analyzes the current situation and helps protecting the traditional villages in central and southern China.Firstly,the relevant concepts,research areas and objects are well defined,researches on traditional villages and smart contraction in urban and rural planning disciplines over related fields are formally summarized,theories for the following research and proposal of the protection with renewal strategies are putting forward scientifically.Secondly,based on field investigations,the historical evolution process and spatial distribution characteristics of traditional villages are analyzed discreetly,the cultural heritage resources,social and economic development basis of traditional villages are sorted out.Establishing a research standpoint for smart shrinkage over existing problems,researching and judging the shrinking trend of traditional village protection and renovation in central and southern Hebei.Thirdly,selecting evaluation factors from four perspectives population trends,economic development,land use,and traditional features which based on the protection and renewal of traditional villages,determining evaluation methods scientifically and reasonably,then building a shrinking evaluation system.Fourthly,selecting the sample villages from landform characteristics,economic development level,historical relic types,and transportation convenience of the traditional villages.The extracted village data subjected to the evaluation of shrinking evaluation system.After acquiring the evaluation results,the case of traditional villages in central and southern Hebei also evaluated in the system.In total,the current situation of village shrinkage is fully analyzed,the shrinking types of traditional villages in central and southern Hebei are well summarized,and the reasons for village shrinkage are meticulously explored.At the end of the study,according to the smart shrinkage theory,the author proposes a number of specific strategies for the protection and renovation of traditional villages in central and southern Hebei,in response to the shrinking problems and the causes related to population,economy,land,and other traditional features in different dimensions,and put forward guidelines for the application of strategies in traditional villages of different contraction types.
