Research On Street Renewal Design Around Beijing Universities Under The Guidance Of Slow-moving System

Street is an important urban public space with traffic function and communication function,especially for the streets around universities,which bear the urban life of university teachers and students and surrounding residents.However,with the continuous renewal and development of Beijing’s cities,urban planning often attaches importance to the rapid traffic of streets,and measures the quality of a street by its motor vehicle traffic attributes,while ignoring its function as a communication space,which leads to the serious lag in the development of city slow traffic system.There are a large number of universities in Beijing,and the lag of the slow-moving system leads to the function of many streets around universities not meeting the living needs of teachers,students and residents nearby,nor providing them with a safe street environment.Based on a comprehensive study of street renewal theory and slow-moving system theory at home and abroad,this paper makes a horizontal comparative analysis of the background and content of compiling guidelines for street design in six domestic big cities,and locates the stage of urban street renewal in China and the main tasks facing urban street renewal at this stage.In this paper,three types of street renovation cases are studied,including the street renovation cases around foreign universities,the street renovation cases of slow-moving system in China,and some practical cases focusing on Moscow street renovation.The methods,strategies and reference significance of street renovation design are summarized.Through field investigation and questionnaire survey,this paper analyzes the problems existing in the streets around Beijing universities at present,investigates the public’s demand and intention for street renewal,determines the street design orientation,and puts forward detailed optimization strategies for street renewal around Beijing universities from three levels: planning and system construction,street design elements and implementation management and operation,including the countermeasures and techniques of street renewal,as well as the specific design details and size requirements of streets.In order to strengthen the functional attributes of streets,meet the living needs of the surrounding groups of colleges and universities,speed up the construction of city slow traffic system,and improve the related theories of street renewal in China.Finally,taking the street renovation plan around Beijing Jiaotong University as an example,combining the practical experience and optimization strategies at home and abroad,this paper puts forward the street renovation plan around Beijing Jiaotong University.
