With the development of the city, the space under the viaduct around the viaduct station is increasing gradually. However, due to the lack of planning in the early stage of construction, the elevated track often exists as an independent transportation facility, neglecting the response to the surrounding environment and humanistic care, and seriously separating the urban texture. In recent years, with the increase of urban population density and the shortage of land use,the use of space under the viaduct around stations have gradually attracted people’s attention.Based on the current background of inventory planning, this paper finds the best use and development intensity of the space under the viaduct,so as to maximize the income of space resources. In TOD mode of rail transit,Beijing has put forward the theory of urban fine development and the construction of urban vitality micro center to create urban life on the track.the overhead space near the station, compared with other spaces, has a higher use value. It can be reasonably developed and utilized,so as to achieve the research goal of optimizing urban public space and better serving people’s lives.Based on this background and based on the current survey data of Beijing, the paper first expounds and defines the concept and scope of viaduct, station, space under the viaduct and surrounding environment, and then combines the theoretical research and practical case study basis at home and abroad to carry out theoretical research on the causes of the formation of space under the viaduct, problems faced, factors affecting the use, forms of use, research methods, etc.Combing and putting forward the important significance of space utilization under the bridge for urban development, laid the theoretical basis and reference system for research.Based on the field survey data of Beijing viaduct, this paper focuses on the space under the viaduct station through the research methods such as remote sensing image basic information collection and field survey, induction and summary, survey questionnaire, etc.the main research content is to summarize the composition of the space under the viaduct and the surrounding environment within the research scope, and analyze the Beijing viaduct station in detail The main body elements of the space under the bridge, such as space structure, spatial distribution, space function, etc.,as well as the surrounding environment elements, such as spatial section environment, visual angle, traffic,,are analyzed. The composition of the elements of the space under the viaduct of Beijing station and the space status and utilization of the surrounding environment of the viaduct station are analyzed This paper summarizes the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, and difficulties of using the space under the viaduct in Beijing.Through the questionnaire survey, this paper studies the public’s psychological feelings and functional requirements for the space under the viaduct near stations, analyzes the possibility of various types of space under the viaduct to be developed and utilized, and summarizes its potential use value and utilization ideas.Combined with the Current situation investigation and questionnaire analysis, further in-depth summary and discussion, the conclusion puts forward the integration principle and space optimization, environment improvement, development and utilization level optimization strategy suitable for Beijing bridge space utilization. At last, this paper combines the excellent cases at home and abroad to elaborate, and provides the forms and ideas of space development and utilization under the viaduct.Although this paper only focuses on the specific situation of Beijing,it also hopes that the research results can provide some references and ideas for other cities in China.
