| The proud announcement of “the Belt and the Road” and the “21st-Century Maritime Silk Road”,indicates China is actively improving the economic and trade cooperation with its neighbor nations.It is the bilateral cooperation mechanism that establishes economic partnership and platform among ASEAN countries.The developing countries in Southeast Asia is currently experiencing the stage of revitalizing the National Economy through the Real Economy,the industrial park however,plays a role of carrier of such process.It does not only provide large amount of employment,production capacity,but also it is the home of business incubators.Against this background,the output of China’s technology and development experience are both crucial important to Southeast Asia’s economic development.The thesis starts with reviewing Singapore Planning System and Development Guide Plan.The main purpose of this section to identify significance of these planning hierarchy systems,regulations and their functions to industrial park development.The analysis goes through the characteristics of case studies,and the relevant development control methods in each economic development stages.The section will also goes through the case studies in Chinese industrial parks,summarizing the characteristics of Asia economy and the lesson learned.The following section studies the Buddhist culture in Southeast Asia.Myanmar is the typical example.The study shows how Buddhist culture affects the country in the aspects of people’s lives,urban construction and planning design.From the economic point of view,Buddhism is also considered to be a type of cultural resources which could be transferred into its unique economic value,such as tourism and production.From the other hand,Buddhist culture however,is the constraint of economic development.It means there is always something “must be done” or “must not to be done” under such beliefs.The thesis is exploring the bottom line of Buddhism,furthermore is seeking the balance between promoting economic development and respecting the passing down Buddhist culture.The practical section bases on writer’s work experience and site visit in Mandalay,Myanmar.Thus,involves the observation of site,weather condition,vegetation status etc.The experience helps the writer to be aware of the residents’ cultural and religion needs,all the consideration will be counted in the planning design proceed,which potentially leads to a more practical design suggestion and fit into the Myanmar context.The thesis has been divided into four chapters.Chapter One is the introduction,it interprets planning relevant definitions,brief description the research background and framework.Chapter Two is the fundamental theory of industrial park planning in Southeast Asia,it reviews the evaluation criteria of Singapore’s Development Guide Plan and the influence of Buddhism.Chapter Three is the problem found and analysis in Myotha Industrial Park project.Chapter Four is the planning solutions to Mandalay Industrial Park,which bases on the experience of case studies. |
