| The multi-pavilions cultural center(MPCC)is an architectural complex which contains two or more cultural buildings(such as library, museum, gallery, theater, etc)with different cultural functions. As a composite cultural building,it has the intensiveness of functional organization, diverse cultural expressions and openness to the urban public which are the main types of contemporary cultural architecture development. The in-between space contained in the MPCC refers to the space that merges and transitions between the architecture and the external urban space system or the different elements within the architectural space system. The research scope of this article is the in-between space in MPCC that not only undertakes the integration transition function between the architectural space system and the external urban space system, but also undertakes the integration transition function between the various functional elements(Multi-pavilions)within the architectural space system. It is a medium for the transition, integration, and penetration between architectural space and external urban space,as well as between multicultural functions, showing the spatial characteristics of both the inside and the outside and the other. On the one hand,it emphasizes the connection between duality or pluralism, and maintains the characteristics and individuality given to each other,on the other hand,it eases the conflicts and contradictions between duality or pluralism, and emphasizes the wandering and joining between them. While maintaining relative independence,it actively participates in the organization of the internal and external functional flow lines and spatial sequence of the building, providing a stage for the organic self-deduction of various cultural functions, activities and events, and shaping the fluidity of the space.Openness and permeability; At the same time,it actively participates in the organization and construction of urban space. It is usually connected and integrated with external open spaces such as urban squares, streets, and natural landscapes, and becomes an organic component of the external urban space system.Since there are few specialized researches on the architectural in-between space of the MPCC in China, this article attempts to make it as a systematic research object,taking“in-between” thought,“Integration of city and building”,“environmental behavior” and other related theories as the basis and guidelines. In order to provide a certain reference and reference for the design practice of the multi-pavilions cultural center and its in-between space. The thesis will be divided into six chapters: Chapter One Introduction, which mainly introduces the research background, research objects, research category definition, research trends, and research purpose and significance;Chapter Two deeply analyzes the characteristics of the multi-pavilions cultural center and its functional elements,Also expounds the connotation and characteristics of the in-between space, and narrates the development of the relationship between the city and the building and the related theories of environmental behavior;Chapter Three clearly defines its concept and research scope of in-between space. Then expounds its influential elements, spatial functions and characteristics at the two levels of city and architecture, and summarizes its diversified composition types through the analysis of the organizational structure of the in-between space in MPCC;Chapters Four compares and analyze the current representative the design cases of MPCC and summarize the design characteristics, laws and problem limitations of the in-between space in the research, and put forward the guiding principles for the design of the in-between space in MPCC,in order to pave the way for the subsequent study of design strategies;Chapter Five, guided by the design principles, combined with many actual design cases, creatively and systematically constructs the design strategy and methodology of the in-between space in MPCC from both the urban and architectural levels;Chapter Six combines his own creative practice to look forward to its development trend and future. |
