The Cultural Research And Application Of Pavilions In Shisu’s Pavilions Narrative Prose

When Chinese traditional landscape architecture come into national people’s mind,pavilions,terraces and open halls are always following this item.As one of the five constitutes making up of landscape architecture,these traditional witnesses more or less contain some expressed or unexpressed cultural quintessences after undergoing replacement dynasty by dynasty.Song dynasty is an era owning advanced and progressed economic,literal and technological achievements in Chinese history.Pavilion narrative prose became an independent genre midst these productions,which built a bridge between literacy and landscape architecture and left treasure reference for subsequent in-depth researches of Chinese traditional landscape architecture.This paper study pavilion in two extents.On the one hand,it introduce the conception of pavilion narrative prose that depicts landscape architecture and make expression,containing some traits of former ones.From the Song dynasty,a plenty of men of literature created considerable pavilion narrative prose.Shisu’s works are definitely representative.The paper chooses three of them called Xiyu pavilion prose,Fanghe pavilion prose and Yiai pavilion prose after a whole scanning the whole works,and then explores stories and legends behind them from three dimensions:constructing background,surroundings and function.After that,the paper concludes theories about pavilion naming,structure,function,concerned articles,plant furnishing and etc.On the other hand,the paper applies the theories mentioned above to a realistic project in Meishan,combining with two foreign cultures:costume play and home party.This combination in the project will display in dimensions such as design of pavilions,botany,activities and related articles.Ultimately,The thesis makes a short summary of the contents,looking forward to the features of comprehension,containment and developing potential.Here are the conclusions:(1)literati in Song dynasty might more or less depict the pavilion’s constructing background,surroundings and activities,which contributes to the references for cultural phenomenon of Chinese traditional landscape.The pavilion narrative prose mentioned above show pavilion’s cultural cultivation in three different environment.Pavilion in garden tends to a romantic style,tending to express hermit lifestyle in countryside and tending to memorize people who make great contributions in temple yard.(2)Modern and traditional,national and international culture,in some extent,have common points.These points,in this paper,performed in cloth and props subscription.“ The four idle business ” and “Elegance” require static activities,which fits with features of cosplay and home party,creating a new cultural form.(3)The Chinese traditional landscape architecture is a kind of comprehensive art.The pavilions in the paper involves clothing,history,politics and so on.There is nodoubt that Chinese traditional landscape architecture will contain more artistic and cultural forms in the approaching time.
