| The night market space represented by the vendor economy has always existed in our country,and is also known as “typical livelihood economy” because it has low operating cost and doesn’t have to pay taxes.Although the night market space has made less contribution to the city’s financial growth,it has solved a large number of employment problems.Especially during the epidemic,it has become an important way to keep the employment situation stable.Furthermore,the night market space,as an important part of the urban commercial space,has provided citizens with flexible and various kinds of services to meet people’s demands and convenience of daily life and injected dynamism into urban space.However,it has been opposed by some citizens,and the conflicts between occupants and urban management officers have been continually happening.The officers has been implementing strict control measures to the occupants.The key of this contradiction is that the occupation of the night market space is contrary to the city’s standardized control behavior.Therefore,thinking about the night market space from the perspective of informality,it is essential to better integrate it into urban space system.In view of the distribution characteristics of the night markets in Hankou,this thesis selects one of the most representative night market spaces Baocheng Road Night Market as the object of investigation and analysis and conducts comprehensive research by using field observation and tracking,questionnaire and interview,MAPPING,and statistical analysis.In terms of physical space,this thesis summarizes the types of spatial carrier,distribution characteristics,commercial activities,climate adaptability and other influencing factors of night market space.In the use of space,based on observations and interviews,it explores how the vendors adapt to the environment in their daily operations to effectively use the limited space,and reveal the vendors’ special space strategies.Finally,based on the research results,this thesis draws the following conclusion:1.Compared with the traditional retail model,under the background of the new business format of offline experience and online shopping,the crowd composition and space demand of the night market space present a diversified form.2.The night market space has greatly activated the urban space,but it is necessary to scientifically and accurately implement standardized management and integrate the night market space into the urban space system.3.In the process of management,the time and space behavior of the crowd and the actual needs and characteristics of the vendors in the night market space should be combined to formulate flexible management strategies.Based on the above work,this thesis provides useful guidance and reference for future night market space optimization and design practices. |
