One of the main causes of traffic accidents in freeway construction area is caused by vehicle lane changing, and the forced lane changing behavior of vehicles in construction area is due to the change of lane geometric conditions. It is easy to form traffic bottleneck when lane geometric conditions change. The operation risk of vehicles passing through the bottleneck section increases significantly, and its lane changing behavior is worth further study.Based on the survival analysis theory, this paper takes the overtaking lane closed construction area as the research object, and studies the vehicle lane changing behavior and its influencing factors.Firstly, the paper starts with the basic data collected, analyzes the characteristics of vehicle lane changing trajectory, and calibrates the road capacity of construction area based on Greenshields model.Secondly, the relationships between lane change characteristic parameters are studied from the macro level. The results show that the operation of vehicles in the process of lane change has a certain stability, and the decision-making behavior of vehicles in lane change is closely related to their location. The peak section of vehicles driving on the line is about 20 meters before and after the starting point of upstream transition zone,There is a quadratic function relationship between the starting point of lane change and the length of lane change. Then, based on the theory of survival analysis, the vehicle lane change duration is deeply studied from the micro level.By using the nonparametric estimation method in survival analysis, the lane change duration and the starting point of lane change are analyzed, and the corresponding mean value and median survival time are obtained,The probability of vehicles ending lane change in unit time will increase significantly. The results show that different initial speeds and different distances from confluence point have significant effects on the distribution of lane change duration. Finally, the Cox proportional hazard model of lane change duration is established, and the influence of eight factors on lane change duration is analyzed quantitatively. The results show that when the speed, vehicle traveling distance, the distance between the lane changing vehicle and the vehicle in front of the overtaking lane, and the completed lane changing length are increased by one unit, the probability of lane change ending increases by 11.52%,0.7%,0.50% and 13.84%,respectively,The probability of lane change at the peak period is 3.387 times than off-peak period.
