The hydraulic torque converter is widely used in transportation vehicles and hybrid vehicles.The W305 hydraulic torque converter is used as the research object of this article.With the help of computational fluid dynamics,Fluent is used to perform the three working turns of the hydraulic torque converter.Three-dimensional flow field simulation calculation and analysis,obtained the working wheel flow field distribution law,and analyzed the reason of the flow field distribution law.The influence of the outlet angle of the pump wheel is researched and turbine blade on the performance of the torque converter is analyzed.Firstly,the geometric design of the hydraulic torque converter is carried out.According to the three-dimensional beam theory calculated by the flow field,the design process of the hydraulic torque converter is determined.The three working wheel blades of the hydraulic torque converter are designed in one dimension,and the geometric shapes of the three working wheel blades are obtained,and the speeds of the three working wheel blades are obtained.Based on the one-dimensional design results,Solid Works is used to perform three dimension modeling of the torque converter,and the runner model of the three working wheels is extracted.Secondly,the three working turns of the extracted hydraulic torque converter are used for three-dimensional simulation calculations using the fluent fluid calculation block in ANSYS software.According to CFD theory,Fluent numerical simulation process is determined.Three working runners are meshed.The flow channel wall boundary conditions are set to determine the flow channel inlet and outlet boundary conditions and periodic boundary conditions.Turbulence model,velocity coupling algorithm and discrete scheme are selected.Given the initial value of the calculation,the convergence criterion is determined.Three working runners are simulated and calculated.According to the results of Fluent numerical simulation,the local and overall flow passages of the three working wheels of the hydraulic torque converter under the working conditions of speed ratios of 0,0.4,and 0.8 are analyzed respectively for the speed field and pressure field.The phenomenon of reverse flow,outflow and secondary flow appeared in the rotation channel.Finally,a mathematical model for the performance of the torque converter is established,and its performance curve is fitted according to the equation model.The law of the influence of the blade angle on the performance of the torque converter under different speed ratios is obtained.By comparing the velocity field and pressure field distribution of different blade outlet angles of the guide wheel and the pump wheel,the blade outlet angles of the pump wheel and the guide wheel corresponding to the best performance parameters and original characteristics of the hydraulic torque converter are obtained,which provides a theoretical basis for the design and research of the hydraulic torque converter.
