Research And Practice On Conceptual Design Of Smart Home Mobile Applications

With the rapid development of the Internet of Things,artificial intelligence,big data and cloud computing,the industrial layout of intelligent residence,on the basis of its original fields,has been fostering technology integration to develop in depth and breadth.Early smart home products focus more on functions of security and monitoring,while the development theme of intelligent residence has been transitioning from the control-focused centralized home control with multiple devices connected and residence as the carrier to customer-focused diversified experience taking content and scenarios as the carriers in recent years,getting closer to the user’s experience and life.The change pays attention to both the physical and mental health of users and is committed to helping users build a scientific,reasonable and intelligent lifestyle.Against this backdrop,the paper aims to explore how to assist users in forming an efficient and high-quality home lifestyle by providing personal and home life management to them via smart home devices with current technical support.The research topic stems from the design work of the smart home mobile application completed under the guidance of the user experience design department of Huawei UCD software product in the author’s graduate period.The work went through a process including market and user research,analysis of relevant competitors,interaction and visual design as well as four design iterations in half a year.This thesis mainly revolves around the software interface design of smart home mobile applications.Firstly,it expounds the research background,source,content and significance of the project.Secondly,research and analyses on smart home mobile applications on the market are conducted to obtain the design strategy of the application.The following section covers product positioning and function analysis,information architecture collection,and the output of interface prototype and visual design of the product.Finally,an optimized design plan comes into being after dealing with the problems summarized from the usability test.The thesis probes into the new scenarios and usage patterns of smart home mobile applications.Smart home devices upload the collected user data to the cloud,offer feedback to users after data processing and analysis,help users quickly understand the status of personal and home environment,promptly find out problems and make oneclick improvement through home devices linkage.By doing so,the time and energy invested by the user in home management are cut dramatically,thus enhancing the quality of life with an efficient home management mode.The design exploration of the paper provides not only a reference for the usage scenarios and modes of intelligent residence,but also for the subsequent smart home mobile applications as well as the design work in related industries.
