In the context of the impact of high housing prices on people’s lives in today’s real estate market,the article aims to improve the living experience and proposes a small residential growth space design idea that meets the different living needs of people in the development of life.Targeting the rigid demanded population of small-scale housing in the society,taking the small residential indoor space as the carrier and taking people’s different life stages as a variable,designing elements in the small residential space by understanding the living needs of each stage of their life development The variability is analyzed to summarize the ways and principles of small-scale residential growth space design.In practice,based on the actual characteristics of small residential units and the specific living needs of the owners,combined with the growth space design approach and principles,the small-scale residential growth space design case was completed with the theme of “growth home”.As a solution to improve people’s living experience in small houses,the growth space design also hopes to provide a model for the research of interior design in the social construction process of people-oriented sustainable development.
