Experimental Exploration Of Chinese Contemporary Architecture Researched From Venice Architecture Biennale

After the Second World War,western architectural modernization directly entered China.Chinese architecture passively accepted the achievements of modernization because China have not completed industrial modernization.Under all kinds of historical conditions,China’s modern architecture is still in a half baked state,so we have lost its voice under the guidance of developed countries.From the 1980 s,a group of young architects in China began to explore the contemporary architecture,trying to find the discourse power of Chinese architecture.On the other hand,modern and contemporary architectural exhibitions are closely related to the development of modern and contemporary architecture.The representative architectural exhibition is the platform of discussion and the display window of architectural theory and practice.Also the important architectural exhibition often promotes the development of architecture.Therefore,the architectural exhibition has become an important window to study the development of architecture.The beginning of the exhibition of modern and contemporary Chinese architecture was the "Chinese Modern Art Exhibition" held in the National Art Museum of China in 1989.Since then,the new concepts and new practices of Chinese architectural culture has entered the current vision through exhibitions.And it played a guiding role in the exploration of the future development of Chinese architecture.At the same time,China is starting to gain a foothold in overseas architectural exhibitions.Among them,the Venice Architecture Biennale has the important position.The picture of the development of Chinese contemporary experimental architecture can be understood as a multi-dimensional jigsaw puzzle.The Chinese Pavilion of Venice Architecture Biennale and its related architects present one or several pieces of it.Firstly,this paper tak the main theme exhibition hall and the Chinese exhibition hall of the Venice architecture biennale as the research object.And by comparative analysis,combing outthe localization of Chinese contemporary architecture experimental exploration in the context of internationalization: It shifts from formally emphasizes the traditional culture of China to openly accept modernity of industrial civilization;There is a shift from aesthetic tastes to a focus on ordinary everyday life;And our focus has gradually shifted from urban development to rural China to find a new way of development to feed back the city.At the same time,this paper analyzes the concept of experimental architecture presented by the China Pavilion,studies the practical works of the architects who participated in the China Pavilion of the Venice Biennale,and analyzes the specific operation strategies.We can get the following characteristics and trends: by four aspects,including the application of traditional symbol,the house and yard space system and classical gardens "interest",the construction technology,and architects participate in development in rural area.The general trend of architectural practice can be concluded from above : the application of traditional symbols shifts from form to the role of symbols in space and construction;the development of Chinese traditional house system shifts from horizontal to vertical direction in high density;The way of using Chinese classical garden space for reference shifts from the spatial form to the spatial relationship of architecture and the building of the spatial relationship between architecture and sourandings;The problem of construction has always revolved around the application relationship between old and new meiterials,structures and construction methods,among which there are two obvious directions: low-tech strategy and digital construction;Rural development has shifted from technological intervention to cultural and ideological shaping.
