Fehn’s architecture ispresenting an original love to nature in a direct and modest way. While Norberg-Schulz mainlydiscussed the spirit of a place and created an architecture theory called architecturephenomenology. Due to the rapid development of economy, the Norwegian contemporaryarchitecture practices and education is booming. The new generation has inherited the thoughts ofthese two previous masters and faced the new challenges from urban, society, self and global.Thus, the architecture attitude to the nature has been rethought and developed.The clue of this thesis is the historical development. It began with the discussion of how theNorwegian traditional dwellings which built without an architect faced the harsh nature. The mainpart use the whole life of Sverre Fehn as a time line to discuss the important architects with theirworks and words from the1930s up to now.
