Cranes as large equipment for loading and unloading cargo in ports,it is especially important to ensure safety.However,the port’s natural environment is harsh and the open terrain can easily cause the equipment to slip or even overturn.This paper aims to solve this problem by studying the crane wind load response and flow field characteristics to provide theoretical data for wind protection design and short-term wind disaster prevention.This paper takes MQ2533 portal crane as the research object,and obtains its mechanical properties and the surrounding flow field through numerical simulation experiments.The main contents were as following:1.Reproduce the crane model and perform static calculation and modal analysis on the model.The results show that the structural strength was safe and the natural vibration response was far less than the period of wind.In addition,the numerical wind tunnel model was determined and the wind tunnel boundary conditions were set.2.The wind load response and flow field characteristics of the crane under average wind were analyzed.The results showed that the downwind wind load was the main force of the structure.The value increases first and then decreases with the increase of the wind direction.The vortex was generated and exists stably between base part,and the deformation of the crane was mainly concentrated on the trunk of the elephant,the tie rod and the front end of the boom.3.The transient response of the crane under fluctuating wind was analyzed,the corresponding time history curve was simulated based on the fluctuating wind power spectrum and the numerical wind tunnel calculation was performed to obtain the crane force time history curve and the flow field characteristics at different times.It shows that the force under the pulsating wind has obvious pulsation,the moment when the structure of the crane was endangered,and the vortex position on the leeward side of the crane swings with the increase or decrease of the wind speed.
