Under the plan of "Made in China 2025," the manufacturing industry,as a pillar industry of China’s economy,has taken a more prominent role in the country’s growth in the twenty-first century.But social progress has also produced more advanced technologies,and the Internet economy’s rise has had a significant influence on numerous industries,including manufacturing.The characteristic of manufacturing enterprises is the cost of heavy assets such as a large number of factories,machinery and equipment,and production lines.Manufacturing enterprises need a lot of investment in fixed assets in the production process,such as workshops,production lines,etc.In recent years,labor costs are steadily rising,making it more profitable for industrial businesses to achieve profits.As a result,in order to raise the enterprise’s profit margin,it is required to handle the problem of cost reduction.Therefore,while facing the development opportunities of the Internet economy,home appliance manufacturing enterprises are also faced with the challenge of increasing costs and intensifying market competition.Whether they can adjust to the current trend and maintain the development of enterprises has become a problem that every home appliance manufacturing enterprise considers.Haier Smart Home is in a leading position in the development of home appliance manufacturing enterprises.It has successfully seized the opportunity and transformed itself into a light asset operation,which has increased its own profit space.This successful transformation has provided more ideas for the development of home appliance manufacturing enterprises.This thesis selects Haier Smart Home as a case enterprise for analysis.First,given the current state of affairs and the characteristics of the home appliance manufacturing industry,it analyzes the motivation,characteristics and paths of Haier Smart Home’s transformation to an asset-light operation model.The specific paths of its transformation mainly include: innovate R &D mode and organizational structure,promote production outsourcing,strengthen brand operation and improve logistics and service level,etc.Secondly,by analyzing and summarizing the relevant financial indicators of Haier Smart Home before and after the transformation and other enterprises in the same industry,and using the analysis method of economic added value,it conducts a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the performance of Haier,and draws relevant conclusions: The company pays more attention to added value,the business structure is more reasonable,the company’s solvency and operational capabilities have remained relatively unchanged,although profitability and development capabilities have improved.Finally,this thesis summarizes the deficiencies in the asset-light operation of Haier Smart Home,which are: outsourcing risks,solvency needs to be improved,and accounts receivable management is weak.Relevant suggestions are made in response to these issues:strictly control outsourcing risks,optimize capital structure,and strengthen accounts receivable management.This thesis hopes that through systematic analysis,the impact of asset-light operations on Haier Smart Home can be shown more concretely,and the conclusions can serve as a reference for other companies in the industry.
