With the development of science and technology,the automobile industry no longer relies on traditional pure mechanical systems.The integration of advanced automotive electronic embedded devices and computing and communication technologies have revolutionized automobiles.Modern cars are connected to the world through the Internet,and functions such as smart parking,assisted driving,and Internet of Vehicles also enrich the driving experience.While enjoying the convenience,invehicle communication technology also brings the risk of external attacks to the originally closed car communication network.The most important and most widely used CAN bus in the car has become the first choice of attackers.At the beginning of the design of the CAN bus,information security protection was not considered.Communication networks are extremely vulnerable to complex network attacks,such as data theft,physical intrusion,and denial of service attacks.Effective information security solutions are urgently needed.To solve this problem,this paper studies and analyzes the vulnerabilities and possible information security threats in the CAN bus,designs data protection measures based on encryption algorithms,implements a secure CAN bus communication protocol,and guarantees the information security of CAN bus communication.The main research contents are as follows:(1)In-depth study of the security threats faced by automotive CAN bus communication,analyze the characteristics and security requirements of each communication scenario,establish a threat model,and put forward the design goals and core functions of the CAN bus information security communication protocol for these security threats.(2)In view of the problem that the CAN bus communication protocol has no information security mechanism and the plaintext data in the network is easy to be stolen,an encryption algorithm is introduced,and the encryption process is optimized,and an encryption mode that meets the characteristics of data transmission in the car is designed to ensure the privacy of data in the CAN network.(3)In-depth study of the elements of vehicle CAN network information security,including information exchange,identity authentication,certificate and key management data security,etc.,to achieve the core functions and various security measures of the CAN bus information security communication protocol.Combining key technologies such as digital signatures,encryption algorithms,and key agreement algorithms,the four functions of configuration data negotiation,identity authentication,identity measurement,and encrypted session are used to solve the information security issues raised in the threat model.(4)Analyze the efficiency,safety and correctness of the secure communication protocol through theoretical proofs and experiments.
