| Fierce competitive business environment and changing customer demands force operation organization to operate more efficient and effective.Operations strategy is a tool designed to ensure the competitiveness of the organization through the reconciliation of customer requirements with operations capabilities,and form a model of sustainable operational decisions that will lead to the proper operating of the organization for effective competition.To survive and thrive in a complex and uncertain world is critical for a small business hoping for success.The thesis is conducted to find an effective operational strategy of CTS industrial combustion equipment co.,Ltd.that will enhance the competitiveness.The research evaluates CTS’ external environment and internal resources,in other words,it combines the two views of operation strategy: the market orientation and the resource-based view.External environment: Firstly,PEST model is used to process external macro environment,the external environmental understanding will bring the advantage of the business opportunities and guide to minimize the threats.The Five Forces is used to analysis competitive business environment,including competitor analysis.And then primary data from interviews and secondary information are collected for understanding the market and customer needs and expectations for industrial combustion products or service.CTS’ internal resource and capability: First of all,value chain is used to analysis the resource and capability of operation organization.Secondly,VRIO is used to identify CTS’ competitive weaknesses and advantages.Finally,The Operations Strategy Matrix framework is used to see the operation strategy required against the customer needs and the resource/capability of CTS,and then the present operation strategy is studied and analysis for ascertaining the gaps.According to all the previous analysis,we could have concluded that customers are more concerned with quality and flexibility than other operational performance objectives,and process technology and development & organization are the essential strategic decisions for CTS.The Conclusions of this thesis:(1)Quality and flexibility are the most crucial operational objective factors.Choosing product-service strategy to form in such a way that it satisfies the customer expectations and achieve competitive edge.(2)In order to ensure the success of the operations strategy implementation,puts forward some relevant recommends for improvement,from network,process technology and development & organization. |
