After the automatic amphibious weapon is equipped with muzzle brake, the muzzle brake uses the energy of gunpowder and gas in after-effect period to reduce recoil and improve weapon mobility. However, due to launching in different medium, the shape of muzzle flow field will become more complex and difficult to predict. In this study, using the method of combining theory and numerical simulation, the muzzle flow field during air and underwater launch was studied. The main research contents are as follows:1)The basic equations of internal ballistics in air and underwater launch were established, and the interior ballistics parameters in air and underwater launch under the condition of the same charge were solved by MATLAB.2)Based on strctured grid and overset tehnology, the muzzle flow field of amphibious automatic weapons in air and underwater launch was simulated by CFD software FLUENT,and the evolution characteristics of muzzle flow field under the two medium were analyzed.3)Numerical calculations were carried out in various working conditions for the underwater launch of amphibious automatic weapons, and the effects of different pressures, different water depths, different speeds, and the presence or absence of initial flow fields on the flow field of the underwater launch muzzle were studied.4)The numerical simulation of the muzzle flow field of air and underwater launch was carried out to study the influence of muzzle brake on the muzzle flow field of air and underwater launch.5)Without considering the projectile motion, the structured grid was used to simulate the three-dimensional numerical simulation of the brake without and with muzzle in air and underwater respectively, and the influence of different muzzle brake on the force of the barrel and the braking efficiency of the brake during air and underwater launch were studied. The reference value for the development of amphibious automatic weapons can be provided by relevant research.
