Wave energy is one of the most promising renewable energy sources.On the conditions of conventional energy exhaustion and global environmental degradation,the approaches for wave energy harvesting have been attracting more and more attentions all over the world.Although triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs)based on liquid-solid interface have offered a new method for wave energy harvesting,some challenges still remain such as the relatively low energy power density and energy conversion efficiency.In order to solve the problem of low energy power density,this paper proposes a bulk effect liquid-solid generator for wave energy harvesting.Moreover,the arrayed generators are further explored which achieve higher energy power densities.We envision that this bulk effect generator based on liquid-solid interface will open new insight in blue energy harvesting in the future.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)A bulk effect liquid-solid generator for wave energy harvesting was constructed and analyzed,which is mainly configured by a polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)film,a3D electrode and a bottom electrode.The working principle of bulk effect liquid-solid generator was analyzed by research of finite element simulation and establishment of equivalent circuit model.(2)A test platform was set up for the electrical output performance testing,and the factors which influence the output performance of bulk effect liquid-solid generator were analyzed.The results show that decreasing the distance between 3D electrode and PTFE,increasing the wave frequency and increasing the area of PTFE are beneficial to the enhancement of output performance,while changing the ion concentration of water,open circuit voltage VOC and short circuit current ISC have opposite variation tendency.(3)The concept of arrayed generator was introduced into the design of generator and arrayed generators with different array modes were prepared and compared.The results show that the bulk effect liquid-solid generators with 1×n array,n×1 array and n×n array have achieved higher power densities compared with the initial generator.(4)The application ability of bulk effect liquid-solid generator was investigated.The output voltage remained stable in the stability test of 40 minutes and the electricity stored by capacitor can supply energy for small electronic device.
