| In recent years,hot words such as "intelligent manufacturing" and "new energy" have appeared frequently,and the development trend of the industry has put the motor industry under pressure to transform and upgrade.According to the analysis,among the listed companies in the motor industry,some motor companies try to promote the company’s transformation and upgrading through diversified operations,while some motor companies still maintain professional operations.The profitability of motor companies that choose different business models is good or bad.Therefore,from a practical point of view,it is difficult to judge whether the diversified operation and professional operation are good or bad.The key is to see whether the company’s business model matches its core resource capabilities..No matter what business model is chosen,it is all to improve the core competitiveness of the enterprise,promote its transformation and upgrading,and then improve the performance of the enterprise.Based on this,this paper selects two listed companies in the motor industry for comparative analysis,namely Jiangte Motor with diversified operations and Zhongdian Motor with specialized operations.Both companies are private enterprises that produce traditional motors.Firstly,the literature in related fields is reviewed,and the motivations for these two companies to choose different business models are analyzed based on relevant theoretical foundations.Secondly,using the entropy method to evaluate and compare the financial performance of the two companies’ comprehensive financial performance and five capability dimensions,to find out the key factors that affect the performance differences between the two companies;Thirdly,based on the operating motives of the two companies,Performance evaluation is carried out from three perspectives of risk control,market competitiveness and synergy.Finally,based on the process orientation,in-depth analysis and sorting out the impact paths of the two companies’ operating performance differences.The research results show that the performance of Jiangte Motor’s diversified operation shows a trend of rising at first and then falling,and the overall performance of the company is not good;the performance of Zhongdian Motor’s professional operation shows an overall upward trend,and the company’s performance is good.Among them,an important factor leading to the poor performance of Jiangte Motor is the loss of its operating profit.The increase in costs and the impairment of large goodwill are also important reasons for the loss of its operating profit;The factors leading to the good performance of Zhongdian Motor is the steady increase of its operating income and the good control of costs and expenses.Explained by the resource-based theory,due to the diversification of Jiangte Electric Motor,its homogeneous resources are strained,and its heterogeneous resources are not matched,and synergistic effects cannot be formed between various industries,thereby damaging the company’s performance;Zhongdian Electric Motors The professional operation of the company makes its homogeneous resources sufficient,and the heterogeneous resources can be effectively allocated,forming a synergistic effect within the company and improving the company’s performance.Therefore,this paper enriches the relevant research in this field,and at the same time can provide inspiration for the selection of business models of motor enterprises in the process of transformation and upgrading. |
