Canine diabetes is a metabolic endocrine disease caused by various reasons, the most prominent feature of which is chronic hyperglycemia, because of insulin deficiency in the pancreas of the sick dog or the endocrine function of the pancreas.Metabolic dysfunction of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. In recent years, due to the improvement of Chinese people’s life, the number of dogs at home has also gradually increased, but due to the excessive doting of dogs by pet owners and the lack of scientific knowledge of dog feeding, the number of dogs with diabetes is also increasing.increase yearly.Due to the long treatment cycle of canine diabetes, the distress and economic pressure it brings to pet owners is also increasing. Therefore, this paper selects 80 pet hospitals in Shenzhen in 2021 and 100 cases of dogs with diabetes as the research objects.Help to provide theoretical support and guidance for clinical veterinary diagnosis and treatment of canine diabetes. The age of the dogs with diabetes was mostly(7-12 years old),the male to female ratio was(1.43:1),and some(75 cases,75%)of the dogs had a history of obesity. When a dog develops diabetes, the main symptoms are diabetes, increased appetite, increased water intake, increased urine output, weak body condition, and weight loss instead of gain. The blood routine results of 100 dogs showed that 72% of the dogs had an increase in the number of white blood cells,35% of the dogs had an increase in the number of platelets, and 41%of the dogs had anemia.Blood biochemical results showed that 17% of the dogs had elevated aspartate aminotransferase(AST),18% had elevated bilirubin(TBIL),and 19% had alanine transamination. The enzyme(ALT)was elevated, and 21% of the dogs had elevated alkaline phosphatase(ALPK).Electrolyte examination results showed that(17 cases,17%)of the dogs had electrolyte disturbances, the most important being Na+(21 cases,21%),K+(15 cases,15%),Cl-(14 cases,14%)and p H decreased(27 cases,27%).After observation and treatment in the hospital,64(64%)dogs could maintain blood sugar balance, and 21(21%)dogs died of ineffective treatment. In three typical cases,it can be found that the morbidity of the dog is caused by pancreatitis, and the dog has not been treated due to the neglect of the pet owner. Therefore, when it is found that the dog at home has abnormal appetite, decreased water intake, increased urine output, and weight loss,it should be sent to the pet hospital for treatment in time to find out the cause of the disease and prevent the disease from worsening, and then cataracts and ketoacidosis.and other serious cases. In the diagnosis and treatment, different feeding methods are selected according to the body condition of the dog.Combined with intravenous infusion therapy, all cases improved significantly after three days. However, the key to improving the disease is to choose small meals and frequent meals when feeding, and to cooperate with blood sugar testing.Diabetes in dogs is also one of the frequently-occurring clinical diseases of dogs.If the sick dog has symptoms such as polyphagia, polyuria, physical weakness, and gradual weight loss,it is necessary to diagnose whether it has diabetes. The basic diagnostic principles are: lowering blood sugar in dogs, improving water, electrolyte and acid-base balance disorders in dogs, and controlling the primary causes and complications caused by primary diseases.Nutrition management can provide the dog with the daily energy and trace elements required by intravenous fluids and small meals.Observing signs daily and recording blood sugar on time, drawing blood sugar curve, and active treatment can relieve symptoms.
