Research On The Journal Of Medicine In The Republic Of China

Research purpose: "Medical Journal of the Republic of China" was founded by Hou Yuwen in Beijing in 1923,and was renamed the "Journal of Oriental Medicine" in1933.The "Medical Journal of the Republic of China"("Journal of Oriental Medicine")was a medical journal with a long history and had certain influence in the 1920 s and 1930 s.It played an important role in promoting the academic progress of medicine,especially in promoting the spread of Western medicine in China.The journal has published a large number of academic papers in Beijing,Shenyang and Changchun,recording the important medical activities of that time,showing the multi-dimensional interaction and exchange of historical facts between medicine and society,medicine and culture,medicine and politics,etc.which has important historical data value.The research methods : Based on the "Medical Journal of the Republic of China"("Journal of Oriental Medicine"),this paper discusses the development of the Journal at that time and its influence from the perspectives of media,academic development and medical activities.The medical development of the Republic of China and the Puppet Manchukuo was studied by combining the medical activities of the medical students in Japan in the late Qing Dynasty after they returned to China and their contributions in the aspects of medical popularization,medical education,medical administration and medical science research in the period of the Republic of China and the Puppet Manchukuo.It mainly includes research on the social medical and health development in the Republic of China and the Puppet Manchukuo Period,research on the form of “ Medical Journal of the Republic of China”,research on the academic development of medicine in the Republic of China and the Puppet Manchukuo Period,research on the interaction between medicine and society from the perspective of media,research on medical policies and medical activities in the Republic of China and the Puppet Manchukuo Period,etc.The research conclusion : The journal plays an important role in spreading medical thoughts,promoting medical progress,improving medical system,expanding medical exchanges and displaying medical achievements.At the same time,as the sponsors of the journal are mostly Japanese medical education experience,deeply influenced by the German and Japanese medical thought,its views have also been criticized by other colleagues in the medical field.After the journal moved to Shenyang,it became an important medical journal during the Puppet Manchuria period and became a part of Japanese colonial rule.
