Objective:Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis(BIA)was used to determine the body composition indicators of maintenance hemodialysis(MHD)patients, and to explore the application of BIA in nutritional assessment of MHD patients. Methods:A total of 74 patients with maintenance hemodialysis in the Hemodialysis Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University were selected.Modified quantitative subjective global assessment(MQSGA)score was used to evaluate the nutritional status of the enrolled MHD patients. They were divided into well-nourished and undernourished groups according to MQ-SGA score. At the same time,Inbody S10 was used to analyze the body composition of patients. The measured indicators include body mass index, body fat percentage, protein, inorganic salts, lean body mass, somatic cell mass, upper arm circumference, upper arm muscle circumference, skeletal muscle, lean tissue index,Intracellular water, extracellular water, total cell water,50kHz phase angle.Collect the patient’s blood biochemical indicators, including serum albumin, total cholesterol, blood creatinine, and urea nitrogen. The general information, blood biochemical data, and body composition parameters of the two groups of patients were compared, and SPSS25.0 statistical software was used for statistical analysis.P<0.05 indicates that the difference is statistically significant.Results:1.Among the 74 MHD patients included in the study,50 were males,24 were females,30 were in the well-nourished group, and 44 were in the malnourished group. The proportion of malnourished MHD patients was 59.5%.The comparison of general data between the two groups showed that there was no significant difference in age, gender, weight, and BMI(P>0.05).2.The comparison of blood biochemical indicators between the well-nourished group and the undernourished group showed that there was no significant difference in serum albumin(ALB),total cholesterol(TC),serum creatinine(SCr),and urea nitrogen(BUN)(P>0.05).3.Comparison of body composition data between the well-nourished group and the undernourished group. The results show that there are differences in protein, mineral, lean body mass, body cell mass, upper arm muscle circumference, lean tissue index, intracellular water, total body water, and 50kHz phase angle.Statistical significance(P<0.05);fat,skeletal muscle, percent of body fat, upper arm circumference, waist circumference, extracellular water, extracellular water/intracellular water, extracellular water/total body water, and total body water/free fat mass were not statistically significant(P>0.05).4.The results of correlation analysis showed that the MQSGA score of MHD patients was positively correlated with age, water content rate, extracellular water/intracellular water(P<0.05),and was related to body weight, mineral, protein, and body mass.Index, upper arm circumference, upper arm muscle circumference, body cell mass, lean tissue index, extracellular water, intracellular water, total body water, lean body mass, and 50kHz phase angle were negatively correlated(P<0.05).The 50kHz phase angle is negatively correlated with patients age, total body water/free body mass, extracellular water/intracellular water ratio, extracellular water/total body water,MQSGA score(P<0.05),and weight, upper arm circumference, upper arm muscle circumference, waist circumference, body cell mass, protein, lean body mass, total body water, intracellular water, lean tissue index, and body mass index were positively correlated P<0.05).The lean tissue index of MHD patients is positively correlated with body mass index, intracellular water, extracellular water, total body water, protein, mineral, skeletal muscle, lean body mass, body cell mass, upper arm circumference, upper arm muscle circumference, and 50kHz phase angle(P<0.05),it was negatively correlated with gender, total cholesterol, percent body fat,and MQ-SGA score(P<0.05).5.Logistics regression analysis results show that lean tissue index, body cell mass, lean body mass, and 50kHz phase angle are protective factors for malnutrition in MHD patients(P<0.05);fat,upper arm muscle circumference, body mass index The increase in MHD is a risk factor for malnutrition in MHD(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.The incidence of malnutrition in MHD patients is higher;2.The body composition index determined by BIA method has a good correlation with the MQ-SGA score of MHD patients;3.High lean tissue index, body cell mass, lean body mass, and 50kHz phase angle are protective factors for malnutrition in MHD patients;4.Extracellular water/intracellular water can be used as a reliable indicator for early assessment of the nutritional status of MHD patients;...
