This study explored the depressive symptoms of type 2 diabetes and their effect on blood glucose control through two parts, and on this basis explored the intervention effect of behavioral activation therapy combined with exercise on subthresholddepression in type 2 diabetes.Study 1 took 367 patients with type 2 diabetes as subjects and conducted a questionnaire survey on depressive symptoms,self-management behavior of diabetes and blood glucose control. The results showed that exercise was significantly correlated with depression and blood glucose control in self-management of diabetes.Depressive symptoms have a significant negative predictive effect on glycemic control, and exercise can mediate the relationship between depressive symptoms and glycemic control. The results of this study are not only helpful to understand the relationship between depression symptoms and blood glucose control from the perspective of exercise, but also enlightening to guide patients with type 2 diabetes to control blood glucose reasonably. In study 2,we integrated behavioral activation therapy for depression with exercise to improve depressive symptoms, glycemic control, and exercise effectiveness. On the basis of study 1,26 participants were screened and randomly assigned to the behavior-activated combined exercise group and the exercise intervention group. The results of the intervention showed that the intervention of behavior activation combined with movement was feasible, which was reflected in the higher recruitment rate and retention rate of participants. It also shows that the intervention of behavioral activation combined with exercise is effective.Compared with the control group of exercise intervention,it has higher treatment efficiency of depression symptoms, and significantly improves depression symptoms, blood glucose control and body mass,as well as the number of exercise days and exercise self-efficacy.Moreover,participants in the experimental group had a higher effective rate of depression symptoms treatment. However, whether the combination of behavioral activation and exercise can effectively improve the relevant indicators of type 2 diabetes patients with major depression deserves further study.Through the above two studies, the following conclusions are drawn: Depressive symptoms are predictive variables for glycemic control in type 2 diabetes and can also affect glycemic control through mediating effects of exercise.Behavioral activation combined with exercise intervention can effectively reduce subthreshold depressive symptoms, improve blood glucose control and exercise status in type 2diabetes patients.
