The competition of hospital technical strength and service level is the competition of medical staff in the final analysis.The managers of the organization should stand in the perspective of the staff and think about what measures the organization will take to have a positive impact on the employees,and what methods can promote the improvement of employee performance.At the beginning of 2020,a sudden outbreak of COVID-19 in China disturbed the regular hospital work.National Health Commission,PRC has adopted a series of policies and measures to ensure the normal operation of public hospitals.It is a top priority to protect people’s life and health and to improve the performance of medical staff in public hospitals under the background of COVID-19.This study adopts the method of literature analysis,questionnaire and interview.In view of the influence of the perceived organizational support of medical staff in the third level public hospital in Shantou City on the job performance,415 medical staff were investigated and studied by using the perceived organizational support scale and the job performance scale,and the data were analyzed by statistical software.By means of interview,8 medical personnel with different hospital attributes,different job categories and different correlation degree of COVID-19 were selected to conduct the interview.The findings are as follows:1.The overall level of organizational support for medical personnel is in the middle range,in which the work support dimension is close to the value identity dimension,and the interest concern dimension is slightly lower.The overall level of job performance and its dimensions are in the middle,in which the level of task performance dimension is close to that of work dedication dimension,and the level of interpersonal promotion is slightly higher than that of them.2.The perceived organizational support and job performance of medical staff is affected by different demographic variables.Among them,education,post category,position and COVID-19 correlation degree have significant influence on perceived organizational support.Age,education,length of service,post category,marital status,children’s situation,position and job performance of COVID-19 correlation degree have significant influence on job performance.3.The dimensions of perceived organizational support and job performance were significantly positively correlated,and the dimensions of perceived organizational support and job performance were exceptionally positively correlated.4.The perceived organizational support of medical staff and its dimensions have a significant predictive effect on job performance.The perceived organizational support of medical staff has a significant predictive effect on the three dimensions of job performance,interpersonal promotion and job dedication.5.The qualitative study found that the concept and behavior of public hospital leaders affect the working willingness of medical staff,the external support was not perfect,and the long-term support after the epidemic normalized was obviously insufficient.Finally,according to the results of the study,it is proposed that public hospitals can provide comprehensive organizational support for medical staff from three dimensions of perceived organizational support to improve the performance of medical staff.Government departments can improve the legislative work by coordinating regional experience;improving the emergency management system with local characteristics;attaching importance to data analysis and feedback to promote the development of public hospitals.
