Objective To observe the changes of gamma-glutamyl transferase(GGT)in patients with metabolic syndrome(MS);To analyze the relationship between components of MS and GGT;To investigate the relationship between GGT and target organ damage in patients with MS.Methods 102 healthy people and 148 patients with MS admitted to the Ningxia Medical University hospital from Mar 2020 to September 2020 were enrolled in the study.The height,weight,abdominal circumference,body mass index(BMI)and blood pressure of subjects were recorded.Relevant laboratory indicators including serum creatinine(Scr),fasting blood-glucose(FBG),GGT,alkaline phosphatase(ALP),alanine transaminase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)were recorded;ultrasound examination measures such as intima-media thickness(IMT),left ventricular diastolic diameter(LVDd),interventricular septal thickness(IVST),left ventricular posterior wall thickness(LVPWT)and ejection fraction(EF)was completed at the same time;left ventricular weight index(LVMI)and estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)were calculated.Results(1)The gender,age,LDL-C and TC between the normal control group and MS group have no statistically differences(P>0.05);the abdominal circumference,BMI,SBP,DBP,FBG,TG in MS group were increased while HDL-C were reduced(P<0.05).(2)The AST of normal control group and MS group has no statistically differences(P>0.05);Increased index including the level of GGT,ALP and ALT,and the HDL-C decrease were dictated(P<0.05).(3)The positive correlation of GGT and abdominal circumference,BMI,SBP,DBP,FBG,TG was revealed by linear correlation analysis,and GGT was negatively correlated with HDL-C(P<0.05);There was no correlation between GGT and age,gender,TC,LDL-C(P>0.05).The positive correlation of abdominal circumference,TG and GGT were revealed by binary logistic regression analysis(P<0.05).(4)The EF and Scr showed no statistically differences between the control group and MS group(P>0.05);In MS group,the LVDd,IVST,LVPWT,LVMI,IMT increased and eGFR decreased(P<0.05).(5)The linear correlation analysis between GGT and the target organ damage index of metabolic syndrome showed that GGT was positively correlated with IMT in patients with MS,and negatively correlated with eGFR(P<0.05).There was no correlation between GGT and Scr,EF,LVDd,IVST,LVPWT,LVMI(P>0.05).(6)Logistic regression analysis of IMT,eGFR,LVMI showed that IMT was independently related to GGT level and age(P<0.05);eGFR was independently related to GGT level,FBG and HDL-C(P<0.05);LVMI was independently related to SBP and Scr(P<0.05).Conclusion The level of GGT increases in patients with MS;The level of GGT is closely related to abdominal circumference and TG in patients with MS;The level of GGT in patients with MS is closely correlated to eGFR reduction and IMT thickening. |
