| Objective: To investigate the relationship between body mass index(BMI)of women with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and brain natriuretic peptide(BNP).Methods: From January 2017 to December 2018,592 women with type 2 diabetes were selected in the Endocrinology Department of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University,women over 40 years of age who have had menopause for more than 12 months and who have been clinically diagnosed after pregnancy,based on the basic data collected,238 cases of non-menopausal women,354 menopausal women.Base on body mass index,the patients were divided into four groups,these included 137 cases of thinnish group(BMI<18.5 kg/m2),normal group(18.5kg/m2≤BMI<24 kg/m2)132,overweight group(24 kg/m2≤BMI<28 kg/m2)208,obesity group(BMI≥28kg/ m2)115.To collect the basic data of the patients and the indexes of serum brain natriuretic peptide,glycosylated hemoglobin,total cholesterol,triglyceride,low density lipoprotein,high density lipoprotein,uric acid,fasting plasma glucose,fasting insulin and so on,and calculate the body mass index(BMI),insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR),and female BMI was statistically analyzed using SPSS23.0 software.Results: 1.The differences of age,diastolic blood pressure,fasting insulin,insulin resistance index,total cholesterol,triglyceride,high density lipoprotein,serum uric acid and brain natriuretic peptide were statistically significant(P < 0.05).2.The BNP level of non-menopausal women was higher than that of menopausal women in the 4groups(P<0.05).3.The results of the Spearman correlation analysis showed that in women T2 DM patients,BNP was negatively correlated with body mass index,age,diastolic blood pressure,fasting insulin,insulin resistance index,total cholesterol,triglyceride and uric acid(P < 0.05).4.The results of the Two-class logistic regression analysis showed that BNP reduction(OR=0.585,95%CI 0.497 ~0.689,P=0.000),elevated fasting insulin,elevated TG,and elevated UA are risk factors for overweight in female patients.5.A multi-class logistic regression analysis showed that BNP each additional unit,a person is 0.644 times more likely to be overweight than non-overweight(OR=0.644,P=0.000);BNP each additional unit,obesity is 0.469 times more likely than non-overweight(OR=0.469,P=0.000).BNP reduction is a risk factor for overweight and obesity in female T2 DM patients.Conclusion: BNP is closely related to the BMI of women T2 DM patients.With the increasing of BMI in women with type 2 diabetes,plasma BNP level decreases,plasma BNP level in non-menopausal women was higher than the postmenopausal. |
