| Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Tangwang Huayu Oral Liquid on post-vitrectomy rehabilitation of proliferative diabetic retinopathy patients with yin and yang deficiency and blood stasis and phlegm coagulation.Methods:Retrospective clinical case-control study.Collected the completely medical information of patients who went to the Department of Ophthalmology,Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2018 to December 2021,and diagnosed with proliferative diabetic retinopathy,underwent Vitrectomy,and whose TCM syndrome type was yin and yang deficiency and blood stasis and phlegm coagulation.The study consisted of 50 patients,equally divided into2 groups.The treatment group was given Tangwang Huayu Oral Liquid for 4 weeks after Vitrectomy,compared to the control group.The baseline data of two groups were analyzed.The best corrected visual acuity,intraocular pressure,postoperative complications,postoperative adverse effects at 1 day,1 week,1 month,and 3 months after Vitrectomy were analyzed in both groups.The Chinese Medicine Symptom Scale and the Quality of Survival Scale for patients with eye disease with visual impairment at 1 day,1 week,and 1 month after Vitrectomy were analyzed in both groups.SPSS20.0statistical software was used to analyze the data and evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Tangwang Huayu Oral Liquid.Results:1.Baseline dataThere was no statistical difference in age,sex,age,duration of diabetes,creatinine,triglycerides,hemoglobin,cholesterol,systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,Hb A1 c,uric acid,eye difference,duration of vitreous hemorrhage,and preoperative best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)between the two groups(P > 0.05).2.BCVA(Log MAR)Control group: 1 day postoperative(1.22(1.00,1.78)),1 week postoperative(1.00(0.70,1.40)),1 month postoperative(0.92(0.52,1.00)),3 months postoperative(0.92(0.52,1.00));Treatment group: 1 day postoperative(1.00(0.76,1.78)),1 week postoperative(0.92(0.52,1.00)),1 month postoperatively(0.70(0.52,1.00)),3 months postoperatively(0.52(0.46,1.00)).The treatment group was superior to the control group at 3 months postoperatively(P < 0.05).3.The Quality of Life Scale for Visual Impairment Eye DiseaseControl group: 1 day postoperative(71.60±17.43),1 month postoperative(92.56±26.50),3 months postoperative(87.96±30.30);treatment group: 1 day postoperative(68.32±14.19),1 month postoperative(102.40±22.04),3 months postoperative(109.76±32.60).The treatment group was superior to the control group at 3 months postoperatively(P < 0.05).4.Syndrome Scale of TCMControl group: 1 day postoperative(21.48±4.19),1 month postoperative(17.88±4.91),3 months postoperative(18.72±5.30);treatment group: 1 day postoperative(21.32±2.78),1 month postoperative(14.12±2.22),3 months postoperative(14.92±2.43).The treatment group was significantly better than the control group at 1 month and 3 months postoperatively(P < 0.01).5.Intraocular pressureControl group: 1 day postoperative(14.76±2.30),1 week postoperative(15.04±1.74),1 month postoperative(14.64±1.91),3 months postoperative(15.28±1.88);treatment group: 1 day postoperative(13.92±1.80),1 week postoperative(15.20±1.47),1 month postoperative(15.44±2.02),3 months postoperative(15.24±1.74).There was no statistical difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).6.Postoperative complicationsThe main complication was vitreous hemorrhage in the control group(10 cases/40%)and in the treatment group(6 cases/24%),with no statistical difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).7.Safety evaluationThere was one case of 2nd degree diarrhea in the treatment group and no other adverse effects were observed.Conclusion:Tangwang Huayu Oral Liquid can improve long-term visual acuity and survival quality in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy of yin and yang deficiency and blood stasis and phlegm coagulation type after Vitrectomy,significantly improve the quality of life and TCM syndromes,and has good clinical efficacy and safety in promoting postoperative recovery. |
