| Objective : To discuss the clinical, radiologicalcharacteristics and surgical managements of non-acoustic tumors in the internal auditory canal(IAC)and cerebellopontine angle(CPA)area. Methods:Retrospectively analyzed the clinical manifestations, radiological presentations, surgical approaches selection of 93 patients with non-acoustic tumors in the internal auditory canal and cerebellopontine angle, who received operations and follow-up observations in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery,Xinhua Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University,School of Medicine from January 2011 to December 2015,in which glomusjungulare tumor, facial nerve tumor, meningioma, cholesteatoma, trigeminal schwannoma, arachnoid cyst, lipoma, cavernous hemangioma were diagnosed in 35,22,11,9,7,4,3 and 2 patients.91 patients were performed surgeries, and preoperative diagnosis and surgical approaches were decided by CT and MRI findings, and pathologically diagnosed, other 2 patients were diagnosed according to radiological results and followed up regularly. Results: A total of 93 patients, including 44 men and 49 women, with the ages ranged from 11 to 77 years(mean 46.4).Different levels of hearing loss in clinical manifestation was present in 62 patients(66.7%),tinnitus in 33 patients(35.5%),peripheral facial paralysis in 23patients(24.7%).Certain CT and MRI features were demonstrated in this group of tumors. Conclusions:CT and MRI has an irreplaceable role in diagnosis of non-acoustic legions in internal auditory canal and cerebellopontine angle,we can make qualitative diagnosis and choose appropriate surgical approach combining with radiological results, this can lead to optimum prognosis. |
