Objective:To study the regulation of electroacupuncture at Zusanli and Sanyinjiao combined with external application of rhubarb and evodia rutaecarpa powder on stress response of patients after gastrointestinal surgery,so as to promote recovery of gastrointestinal function. At the same time, the symptoms of hunger after gastrointestinal surgery were observed to provide a new reference index for the selection of eating time for clinical patients.Methods:60 patients with gastrointestinal diseases that met the inclusion criteria and required surgical treatment were selected from the general surgery department of the affiliated hospital of Shandong university of traditional Chinese medicine from September 2017 to January 2020.they were divided into treatment group and control group according to the random number table method, with 30 patients in each group. The control group was given routine treatment after surgical gastrointestinal surgery. The treatment group was additionally treated with electroacupuncture at Zusanli and Sanyinjiao on both sides on the basis of the control group, and was externally applied with rhubarb and evodia rutaecarpa powder to Shenque and Yongquan on both sides. Before operation,on the 1st and 5th day after operation, blood was drawn to observe the stress response related indexes of patients: tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),white blood cell count(WBC),C-reactive protein(CRP)content and cortisol. The time of the patient’s first exhaust and defecation was observed, and the family members filled in the record sheet. The time was accurate to hours. The patient’s bowel sounds were auscultated every 6 hours starting from the first day after the operation. The TCM symptoms and signs of the patient before the treatment(6 hours after the operation)and on the 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th days after the operation were scored, and the hunger sensation of the patient on the 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th days after the operation was scored.During treatment, pay attention to observe the patient’s safety indicators(blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, pulse, etc.)and adverse reactions, and deal with them in a timely manner.Results:1.TNF-α,WBC and CRP in the two groups were significantly higher than those before operation, with statistical significance(P(27)0.05);2.The recovery of TNF-α,WBC,CRP content and cortisol on the 5th day after operation in the treatment group is better than that in the control group, with statistical difference between the two groups(P(27)0.05);3.The recovery time of bowel sounds, the first exhaust time and the first defecation time in the treatment group were significantly earlier than those in the control group, with statistical significance(P(27)0.05).4.The scores of TCM symptoms and signs in the treatment group were better than those in the control group on the 1st and 2nd day after operation, and there was statistical difference between the two groups by statistical software analysis(P(27)0.05);5.Compared with the control group, the hunger scores of the patients in the treatment group on the 2nd,3rd and 4th days after operation were statistically different by statistical software analysis(P(27)0.05).Conclusion:Electroacupuncture at Zusanli and Sanyinjiao on both sides, combined with external application of rhubarb and Evodia rutaecarpa powder to Shenque and Yongquan on both sides, can regulate stress response related indexes of patients after gastrointestinal surgery, shorten stress response time, promote early recovery of gastrointestinal function, stimulate hunger sensation of patients, shorten postoperative fasting time of patients, reduce occurrence of complications, and promote rapid postoperative recovery.
