| ObjectivesInvestigate the fatigue status of nurses in hospital in Jinan;analyze the influence of demographic factors, work stressors, and social support on fatigue;provide a theoretical basis for managers to take measures to reduce nurse fatigue and improve nurses’ occupational health.MethodsConvenient sampling was used to select a total of 215 nurses in the medical oncology department and oncology radiotherapy department of 1 tertiary A grade tumor specialist hospital and 3 tertiary grade A general hospitals in Jinan City,Shandong Province.Fatigue was adopted from June to September 2020.The scale, the work stressor scale, the social support scale and the general information questionnaire surveyed the oncology nurses who met the inclusion criteria.Results236 questionnaires were distributed in study with an effective rate of 91.1%.The results are as follows:1.The total fatigue score of oncology nurses is(144.12±28.58)points,and the items are equally divided into(4.97±0.99)points.The scores of each factor from high to low are fatigue response(6.09±1.42)and fatigue result(5.61 ± 1.39),the environment specificity of fatigue(5.17± 1.15),and the severity of fatigue(4.95± 1.20).There were 171 people(79.5%)who were fatigued, including 61 people(28.4%)who were generally tired,61 people(28.4%)were moderately tired, and 49 people(22.8%)were severely tired.2.The total score of the oncology nurses’ work stressor is(87.01±20.13)points,which are at a moderate stress level, and the items are equally divided into(2.49±0.58)points.The scores of each dimension are ranked from high to low for time distribution and workload.(2.79±0.75).3.The total score of social support is(41.30±8.36),and subjective support(5.80±1.30),objective support(3.35±1.11),support utilization(2.68±0.27).4.The univariate analysis of the fatigue of oncology nurses showed:age, years of tumor nursing work, with or without children. The difference in the effect of nurse fatigue was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.Correlation analysis showed that the total score of oncology nurses’ fatigue, fatigue severity, fatigue environment specificity and fatigue results were positively correlated with the total score of work stressors and various dimensions(P<0.01).The total fatigue score of oncology nurses was negatively correlated with the utilization of the dimensional support of social support(P<0.01);the results of fatigue severity, fatigue environment specificity and fatigue of the oncology nurses were negative with the utilization of dimensional support of social support Correlation(P<0.05);the response of oncology nurses’ fatigue to rest and sleep was positively correlated with objective support(P<0.01).6.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the factors affecting the fatigue of oncology nurses include time allocation and workload, patient care and monthly income, which together explain 36.8%of the total variation of fatigue.Specifically, the greater the pressure on time allocation, workload and patient care, the greater the fatigue. The higher the monthly income, the heavier the fatigue.Conclusions1.The work pressure of oncology nurses is at high level, social support and the fatigue status is more serious;2.There are statistically significant differences in the effects of professional title, nurse level and monthly income et al.3.The greater the work pressure of oncology nurses, the higher the fatigue;the more social support, the lower the fatigue.4.Time allocation and workload, patient care, and monthly income are significant predictors of fatigue. |
