| Objective: This study analyzed the death cases in PICU of the first affiliated hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from 2011 to 2019,analyzed the age,sex,nationality,place of residence,time of death,death disease,complicated with other chronic diseases,days of hospitalization and other related conditions of the children who died in PICU,and comprehensively analyzed their clinical characteristics and changing trends in order to further summarize their experience and guide the clinical treatment and prognosis of severe children.Methods: According to the clinical characteristics of age,sex,nationality,place of residence,time of death,death disease,combined with other chronic diseases,hospitalization time and so on,226 cases of death in pediatric intensive care unit of our hospital during 2011.1.1-2019.12.31 were analyzed retrospectively.The SPSS22.0software was used for statistical processing.Results: The overall mortality rate in PICU of our hospital in the last nine years was 3.36%.The mortality rate in 2011-2019 showed peak change,the highest was 4.89% in 2015,and then decreased year by year,there was no significant difference in mortality between years(P?0.05,α=0.05).The majority of 226 deaths were children under 5 years of age,accounting for 75%;in terms of gender distribution,male children accounted for a larger proportion,with a composition ratio of61.50;and deaths within 1~7 days of admission were the most distributed,with a composition ratio of 63.72.Deaths vary slightly in the distribution of month and place of residence.Among the top five causes of death in PICU of our hospital were respiratory disease(38.05%),blood tumor disease(18.14%),nervous system disease(9.73%),cardiovascular disease(8.85%)and accidental injury(6.20%),sepsis(6.20%).Respiratory diseases,especially severe pneumonia,are the first cause of death in PICU of our hospital in the past nine years.The number of deaths due to respiratory diseases has decreased year by year.Since 2018,blood tumor diseases have become the first cause of death.Respiratory diseases are the most common among children under 5 years of age,and blood tumor diseases are more common among children over 5 years of age.With the changing of age,the number of children who died of accidental injury increased gradually.Among other chronic diseases,the most common diseases are cardiovascular diseases,followed by endocrine and genetic metabolic diseases.Conclusion: The case fatality rate in PICU in the past 9 years showed peak change.The death cases were mainly children with respiratory diseases under 5 years of age,especially those with cardiovascular diseases.Blood tumor diseases increased year by year in children,and the mortality was higher. |
