Objective: To investigate the correlation between dietary inflammatory index and the extent of coronary lesions in patients with first coronary heart disease using dietary questionnaires. Methods: Patients hospitalized in the heart center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from June 2019 to December 2020 with coronary artery disease diagnosed by coronary angiography were enrolled, and the dietary inflammatory index was calculated using a dietary questionnaire, and the Gensini and syntax scores were used to assess the extent of coronary lesions. The association between coronary lesion extent and dietary inflammatory indices was analysed by statistical methods using multiple linear regression. Results:There were significant differences between the two groups: gender, smoking history, hypertension history,type2 diabetes history, and DII(P <0.05),there was no significant difference in age and BMI between the two groups. There were significant differences in troponin, monocyte count, fasting blood glucose, glycosylated serum protein, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, alanine aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase and free fatty acid between the two groups(P< 0.05).There were significant differences in the intake ofβ-carotene,dietary fiber, folic acid and iron between the two groups(P< 0.05).(2)According to DII,participants were divided into anti-inflammatory diet group and pro-inflammatory diet group. There was significant difference in Gensini score between the two groups(P< 0.05).Multivariate logistic analysis showed that DII(OR = 1.10,95%CI: 1.02-1.18,P< 0.05)was an independent risk factor for coronary heart disease. Conclusion:Dietary inflammatory indices were associated with incident coronary heart disease, with higher rates of more pro-inflammatory dietary coronary heart disease.Dietary inflammatory index was an independent predictor of coronary lesion extent in CAD patients,i.e.,higher DII levels were suggestive of higher coronary lesion extent.
