| Objective:To observe the effect of singing therapy on improving exercise endurance,self-perceived burden(Self-Perceived Burden,SPB),general well-being and quality of life in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease,COPD)stabilization in the community, and to evaluate the effectiveness in patients with stable COPD in the community. Methods:According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, from January2020 to August 2020,66 patients who lived in Beihu Nanmian Community Health Service Center,Nanning City,Guangxi, were randomized into the intervention group(n=33)and the control group(n=33).The control group was given usual care and community health management services,follow-up evaluation and health education are the main forms. The intervention group adopted singing therapy based on usual care and community health management services, combined with group singing practice and daily home self-practice.6 minutes walk test(6MWT),Borg Score,Quality of Life Scale(CAT),Self-Perceived Burden Scale(SPBS),General Well-Being Schedule(GWBS)were evaluated for the intervention group and the control group respectively at the beginning(T0)and after intervention for 1mouths(T1),2mouths(T2),3 months(T3).The data were statistically analyzed by SPSS 19.0,statistical description were described by mean±standard deviation, rate, composition ratio and so on.Data in each time is compared by Repeated ANOVA,which does not meet the spherical symmetry data, and the Greenhouse-Geisser correction results are used.P<0.05 difference was statistically significant.Results:1.A total of 58 patients participated in the whole research process, including 28 cases in the control group and 30 cases in the intervention group.Baseline data of the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05)and were comparable.2.6MWD:After 2 mouths, the walking distance of the intervention group was more than that of the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),the time factor was statistically significant(P<0.05),and there was an interaction between the groups and time(P<0.05).3.Borg Score and Sp O2:After the intervention, the Borg score of the intervention group was lower than that of the before and also lower than the control group, and there was significant difference in Borg score between the two groups(P<0.05),but there was no significant change in Sp O2after the intervention(P>0.05).4.Self-perceived Burden:The total score of SPBS and emotional burden in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group at T1,T2,T3,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).And the time factors of the two groups were significant(P<0.05),there was an interaction between the groups and time(P<0.05).However,the physical burden of the two groups was different from that of the control group after 2 months of intervention(P<0.05),and there was no significant change in economic burden between the two groups(P>0.05).5.General Well-Being:The total score of GWBS,control of emotion and behavior, mood of pleasure or depression, satisfaction and interest in life and energy in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group at T1,T2,T3,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The time factors were significant(P<0.05),and there was an interaction between the groups and time(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in relaxation and tension, concern for health between the two groups after intervention(P>0.05).6.Quality of Life:The total CAT score,symptom-related score and living condition score of the intervention group were lower than those of the control group at T2,T3,and there was an interaction between the groups and time(P<0.05).The time factor was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion(s):After 3 months of singing therapy intervention, the exercise endurance was increased, the ability of daily activities was promoted and the quality of life was improved. And also, singing therapy dredged the negative emotions of patients, alleviated the burden of self-feeling and improved the overall happiness of patients. As a result, singing therapy is worth promoting in community COPD stable patients. |
