| ObjectiveThe distribution of yin and Yang constitution of six meridians in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus was investigated, and the clinical characteristics of the patients in the six classics Yang constitution group and the six meridian Yin attribute constitution group were analyzed and compared.Methods151 newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were selected from the Department of endocrinology of Guangdong Hospital of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine.According to the criteria of six meridians constitution survey scale developed by Professor Liu Min of Guangzhou University of traditional Chinese medicine, they were divided into six meridians Yang constitution group and six meridians Yin constitution group. The general demographic clinical data and clinical laboratory data of the two groups were compared.Results(1)General situation of the overall research objectAmong 151 newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes,85 were male and 66 were female. The ratio of male to female was 1.28:1.The age distribution was between 19 and 70 years old, with an average age of(53.19±0.99)years.There were 107 cases in the six meridians Yang constitution group, accounting for 70.86%,and 44 cases in the six meridians Yin constitution group, accounting for 29.13%.(2)Comparison of general demographic and clinical data between the two groupsThere was no significant difference in age, gender, waist circumference, diastolic blood pressure, related medical history(history of hypertension, family history of diabetes, drinking history)and clinical complications(diabetic retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, diabetic lower extremity vascular disease, diabetic cardio cerebral neck vascular disease)between the six channel Yin constitution group and the six channel Yin constitution group The difference was statistically significant(P>0.05).There were significant differences in BMI,systolic blood pressure and smoking history between the six meridians Yang constitution group and the six meridians Yin constitution group(P<0.05).(3)Comparison of clinical laboratory data between the two groups①There was no significant difference in FPG,HBAIC,OGTT/2H and fasting C-peptide between the six channel Yin constitution group and the six channel Yang constitution group(P>0.05).② Compared with the six channel Yin constitution group, the lipid metabolism indexes(UA,TC,LDL-C,HDL-C and TG)of the six channel Yang constitution group had no significant difference(P>0.05).③ compared with the six channel Yin constitution group, the islet cell function evaluation(HOMA-IR,HOMA-β)of the six channel Yang constitution group had no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion(1)According to the criteria of the six meridians Yin Yang constitution survey scale developed by Professor Liu Min of Guangzhou University of traditional Chinese medicine, the newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients are more likely to be diagnosed as six meridians Yang constitution.People with six meridians Yang constitution have the pathophysiological basis of viscera and meridians for the onset of diabetes.Without early intervention, they may be more likely to progress to diabetes. In clinical work, strengthening the identification of six meridians constitution and applying traditional Chinese medicine to recuperate the biased constitution of people with six meridians Yang constitution may delay or even reduce the occurrence of type 2 diabetes.(2)BMI,systolic blood pressure and smoking history may affect the judgment of six meridians Yang constitution. At the same time,we speculate that people with six meridians Yang constitution may reduce the degree of Yin-Yang bias by reducing their BMI,systolic blood pressure and quitting smoking,so as to delay the occurrence and development of type 2 diabetes. |
