| Objective:To explore the TCM constitution,TCM syndrome type distribution and its correlation in patients with ulcerative colitis, and to provide clinical basis for the development of personalized TCM treatment, prevention, life conditioning and other comprehensive intervention programs. Methods: For patients with ulcerative colitis who meet the inclusion criteria, the method of questionnaire was adopted to classify and determine the TCM constitution and TCM syndrome type by using the TCM constitution classification and judgment self-test table and TCM syndrome type judgment table.Statistical software was used to analyze the collected clinical data, and the distribution and correlation of TCM constitution,TCM syndrome types in patients with ulcerative colitis were preliminaries discussed. Results: 1.General information distribution:(1)In this study, the ratio of males to females was 1.47:1,and the average age of males was 42.20 years old and that of females was 40.12 years old. There was no correlation between gender and age(P > 0.05).(2)The shortest course of disease was more than 1 month, the longest was more than 30 years, and the most was 1-5 years(52.11%).The range of active lesions was significantly correlated with the severity of the disease(P < 0.01).E1 was mainly mild,E2 was mainly moderate, and E3 was mainly severe. The duration of active stage was correlated with lesion range(P < 0.05).E1 was the most common lesion in patients with disease duration < 1 year, and E3 was the most common lesion in patients with disease duration of 1-5 years,6-10 years and >10 years.2.Distribution law of TCM constitution:(1)Wet and heat quality, and the highest proportion(20.86%),followed by Yang deficiency(19.63%),qi deficiency qi depression(17.18%),mass(17.18%),phlegmy wet mass(11.04%),and mass(5.52%),Yin deficiency(4.91%),blood stasis(3.68%),did not see the great mass.3.Correlation between general data and constitution of traditional Chinese medicine:(1)There was significant correlation between age and TCM constitution(P < 0.01).The majority of patients under 18 years old and young patients were dampand hot(41.67%,24.32%),the majority of middle-aged patients were qi-deficiency(23.64%),and the majority of elderly patients were yang-deficiency(50.00%).(2)There was significant correlation between sex and TCM constitution(P <0.01).Dampand hot matter was the most common in male patients(29.90%),and Qi stagnation matter was the most common in female patients(24.24%).(3)There was significant correlation between the course of disease and TCM constitution(P < 0.01).Dampand hot matter(33.33%,24.71%)were the most common in patients with disease course < 1 year,1-5 years,Qi deficiency matter(23.68%)was the most common in patients with disease course < 6 to10 years, and Yang deficiency matter(59.09%)was the most common in patients with > 10 years.4.Distribution of TCM syndromes: The proportion of large intestine dampness-heat syndrome was the highest(26.99%),followed by spleen deficiency and dampness-block syndrome(25.15%),liver stagnation and spleen deficiency syndrome(16.56%),spleen-kidney Yang deficiency syndrome(15.95%),cold and heat mixed syndrome(9.20%),and intestinal stasis syndrome(6.13%).No hot and toxic burning syndrome was observed.5.Correlation between general data and TCM syndromes:(1)There was significant correlation between age and TCM syndromes(P < 0.01).Large intestine damp-heat syndrome was the most common in patients under 18 years old and young patients(58.33% and 33.78%),spleen deficiency dampness-block syndrome was the most common in middle-aged patients(30.91%),and spleen-kidney Yang deficiency syndrome was the most common in elderly patients(45.45%).(2)The course of disease was significantly correlated with TCM syndromes(P< 0.01).The disease course was less than 1 year,1-5 years with large intestine dampness-heat syndrome most(50.00%,32.94%),6-10 years with spleen deficiency dampness-obstruction syndrome most(23.68%),10 years with > with spleen kidney Yang deficiency syndrome most(45.45%).6.Correlation between constitution and syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine: There was significant correlation between TCM constitution and TCM syndromes(P < 0.01): The most common syndromes of dampness-heat in medium and large intestine were 44.44%.Among the biased constitutions, the syndrome of spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction was more common(42.86%)than that of Qi deficiency and quality.Spleen and kidney Yang deficiency syndrome was the most common(50.00%).Among the qi-stagnation compounds, the syndrome of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency and the syndrome of dampness and obstruction of spleen deficiency were the most(both 28.57%).The large intestine dam P-heat syndromes in hot and humid and Phlegm were the most(47.06%,50.00%).Among the blood stasis, intestinal stasis was the most common syndrome(66.67%).The syndrome of mixed cold and heat in Yin deficiency, the syndrome of dampness-heat in large intestine and the syndrome of dampness-block in spleen deficiency were equally emphasized(all 25.00%).Conclusion: Ulcerative colitis patients biased constitution in the majority. The constitution of traditional Chinese medicine is obviously related to the syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine. In clinical practice, syndrome differentiation, disease differentiation and body differentiation can be combined to correct the biased constitution,so as to achieve the goal of "preventing disease before disease, preventing disease from change" and achieving the goal of treating disease without disease. |
