Research On Clinical Efficacy Of Niaodukang Mixture In Treating Chronic Kidney Disease Based On The Theory Of Gut-kidney Axis

ObjectiveThis research aimed to investigate the effect of intestinal function on the progression of Chronic Kidney Disease(CKD),based on the theory of‘Gut-kidney Axis’.Observe and evaluate the clinical efficacy of Niaodukang mixture in the treatment of CKD inflammation by reducing the level of endotoxin,so as to provide medical evidence for the theory of ‘Treating Kidney with intestines’.MethodsAll of the 58 patients were diagnosed with chronic kidney disease(CKD,stage 2 to 4,non-dialysis)and met the inclusion criteria,hospitalized in the department of Nephrology,Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine during October 2018 to October 2020.All of them were divided into experimental group(29 cases)and control group(29 cases)randomly through random number table.Collected the general data of all patients before treatment,such as sex,age and concomitant symptom.Patients in both groups were given standard basic treatment in accordance with the clinical guidelines for chronic kidney disease(non-dialysis).In addition,the experimental group was given Niaodukang mixture 100ml/d then the control group was not given extra treatment,observation lasted for 8 weeks.The clinical symptoms and all examination indexes of two groups were observed and recorded at the time before treatment and 8 weeks after treatment.The examination indexes including Serum creatinine(SCr),Blood urea nitrogen(BUN),Serum uric acid(SUA),Lipopolysaccharides(LPS),Urinary protein,C-Reactive Protein(CRP),Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate(ESR),CBC,ALT,AST,etc.Finished the score of TCM syndrome,analyzed and compared all the data above by SPSS 26.0 software.Results1.The general data of the 2 groups before treatment such as sex and age were statiscally analyzed,there wes no statiscally significance(P>0.05)and comparable between 2 groups.2.The patients in treatment group could improve the renal function to some extent,the estimated Glomerular filtration rate(e GFR)and SUA in treatment group were significantly decreased(P<0.05)then there was no significant improvement in control group(P>0.05)after 8 weeks treatment.The effect of treatment on urinary protein was not significant in treatment group(P>0.05),which the control group can not help reduce but even further increase after 8 weeks treatment(P<0.05).3.The treatment group can reduce LPS level after treatment(P<0.05)then the control group can not help reduce but even further increase after 8 weeks treatment.4.The CRP and ESR level in treatment group were significantly decreased(P<0.05)after 8 weeks,but control group showed no significant evidence of relieving inflammation(P>0.05).5.The scores of TCM syndrome in treatment group was significantly lower than that before treatment(P<0.01)then the scores of TCM syndrome in control group did not decrease significantly(P>0.05).There was a significant difference in scores of TCM syndrome between 2 groups(P<0.01)after treatment,suggesting that treatment group was better than the control group in improving clinical symptoms.6.The CBC and liver function(ALT,AST)of 2 groups were compared and the data above were not obviously abnormal befrore and after treatment.ConclusionNiaodukang Mixture can help improve the symptoms of CKD patients,reduce the accumulation of toxins in body,inhibit inflammatory state of patients,improve intestinal barrier,delay the CKD process and improve the renal function.This mixture is clincal safe and effective in treating CKD,which can provide new clinical evidence for‘Treating Kidney with intestine’theory.
