| Color blindness,also known as color vision disorder,is a genetic disorder with defective or abnormal color vision,which is characterized by a decreased ability to recognize certain color pairs.With the rapid development of modern science and technology and the gradual improvement of people’s quality of life,the use scenes of color are more and more.Color can represent information,which makes information expression more simple and more intuitive.Colors are playing an increasingly important role in our daily life.For people with normal color vision,color can enrich life.However,people with color blindness cannot share the benefits of color with people with normal color vision,or even understand the information contained in color properly.Therefore,it is of great research value to study color blindness and put forward correction methods to reduce the perplexities of patients with color blindness.So far,researchers have conducted a lot of studies on color blindness and proposed many effective correction methods.But limited by the current state of care,researchers have to look elsewhere for breakthroughs.For example,researchers have made many scientific achievements by applying image processing technology,including the establishment of color blindness models and the innovation of correction methods.Among many color blindness correction methods,some are realized by changing the original color,while some are realized by modifying the brightness,each of which has its own innovation and disadvantage.Based on the advantages and disadvantages of existing methods,we propose a new method to correct color blindness in order to enhance the color contrast of dichromatic images.The aim of this study is to enhance the ability of color blindness to identify easily confused colors effectively and to ensure the naturalness of the resulting images.The proposed method achieves the research goal from two perspectives.One is the lightness correction method based on the Craik-O’Brien(C-O)effect,which corrects the lightness values of the contour part of the original color images by establishing the objective function considering the color distance.The other is a lightness correction method based on local variance,which reflects the contrast by using variance,and adjusts the lightness value of color blind confused colors by establishing an objective function that meets the conditions.In the experimental part,the original image,the simulated image and the corrected image obtained by using this method are analyzed and evaluated.The results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the color contrast of the image under color blindness vision,and the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method are verified.At the same time,the comparison experiment between different methods shows that the proposed method can get the better output effect. |
