Objective:To investigate the expression of galectin-3(Gal-3)and Cystatin-C(Cys-C)in the plasma of elderly patients with type 2 CRS and those with CHF,and to evaluate the diagnostic value of Gal-3 and Cys-C in elderly patients with type 2 CRS.Methods:A total of 79 CHF patients with age≥65 years,NYHA functional class II-IV,who were admitted to the Department of Cardiology of Hebei Provincial People’s Hospital from October 2019 to November 2020 were selected as the research subjects.According to whether the e GFR calculated by CKD-EPI formula in 2009 was less than 60ml/min/1.73m~2,they were divided into CHF group and type 2 CRS group.(The occurrence time of renal insufficiency is later than that of cardiac insufficiency).The levels of e GFR,Scr,BUN,WBC,HB,NT-pro BNP,Gal-3 and Cys-C were measured.Results:The study included 79 patients,40 patients(51%)in CHF group and 39in type 2 CRS group(49%),and there was no significant difference in age,gender and LVEF between the two groups(all P>0.05).1.The levels of Gal-3,Cys-C,Scr,BUN and NT-pro BNP in type 2 CRS group were significantly higher than those in CHF group(all P<0.05);HB in type 2 CRS group was significantly lower than that in CHF group(all P<0.05);2.There was significant correlation between Cys-C and traditional biomarkers such as Scr,BUN and NT-pro BNP,and between Gal-3 and Cys-C;3.Logistic regression analysis showed that Gal-3 and Cys-C were significantly correlated with type 2 CRS(all P<0.05);4.The ROC curve analysis showed that AUC was 0.799(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.700,0.899),sensitivity was 79.5%,which was higher than that of Scr 74.4%.Conclusions:1.New biomarkers Gal-3 and Cys-C are associated with type 2 CRS.2.Gal-3 and Cys-C have a certain diagnostic value for type 2 CRS,and their combined diagnosis can moderately improve the diagnostic efficiency of type 2 CRS.
