Objective: Constructing a questionnaire on nurses’ knowledge, attitude and practice about intermittent oral tube feeding to investigate the status of nurses’ knowledge, attitude and practice about intermittent oral tube feeding in Grade 3A Hospital of Hubei Province, and to analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide reference for hospital managers to carry out intermittent oral feeding related training and clinical promotion. Methods: First, refer to the relevant reference, construct the questionnaire items after repeated discussions by the research group, and use Delphi method to form the initial questionnaire for nurses’ knowledge, attitude and practice of intermittent oral tube feeding after two rounds of expert letter inquiries.Secondly, through a pre-survey of 200 nurses in Hubei Province to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire to form a formal questionnaire. Finally, using the method of cluster sampling,a questionnaire survey was conducted among the nurses in five Grade 3A Hospital of Hubei Province.Using SPSS21.0 software to perform statistics and analysis on the collected data.Using descriptive analysis, pearson correlation analysis, single factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis to analyze the current status of knowledge, attitude and practice of nursing staff in Hubei Province and its influencing factors.Results:1.Construct a questionnaire: The preliminary designed questionnaire item pool has 41 items. After two rounds of expert letter inquiries,40 items were determined. The positive coefficient of the two rounds of expert letter inquiries were 86.36% and 100% respectively, the coordination degree coefficient of expert opinion were 0.208 and 0.433respectively(P<0.001),and the authority degree coefficient of expert opinion was 0.88.2.Pre-investigation: After a pre-survey of 200 samples, the split-half reliability of the questionnaire is 0.804,the overall Cronbach’s α of the questionnaire is 0.975,and the overall content validity coefficient of the questionnaire is 0.96,indicating that the reliability and validity of the questionnaire is good, and a formal questionnaire is formed.3.Formal investigation: By stratifying the regions of Hubei Province, one hospital was selected from each of the five directions in the east, west, south, north, and middle of Hubei Province, and a cluster sampling method was used to survey the nursing staff of five Grade 3A Hospital. The results show that:(1)The overall average score of the questionnaire on knowledge, attitude and practice of intermittent oral tube feeding among nurses in Grade 3A Hospital of Hubei Province is(128.41±31.90),the average score of knowledge dimension is(47.10±15.62),and the average score of attitude dimension is(55.33± 8.46),the average score of the practice dimension is(25.98±15.13).The nurses’ knowledge and practice of intermittent oral tube feeding are at a low level.(2)The results of correlation analysis shows that there is a positive correlation among nurses’ knowledge, attitude, and practice of intermittent oral tube feeding. The correlation coefficient r value is between 0.364 and 0.531,and the P value is all less than 0.001.(3)The nurses’ mastery of intermittent oral tube feeding is affected by the department, the position, the training of relevant knowledge, the implementation of this operation, and the department’s implementation of this technology(P<0.05).(4)The results of multiple linear regression analysis show that the main factors affecting the knowledge score are the departments: Department of Oncology(β=0.137,P<0.05),Department of Rehabilitation Medicine(β=0.292,P<0.05),participation in training(β=0.173,P<0.05),the implementation of this operation(β=0.190,P<0.05),the department has implemented this technology(β=0.207,P<0.05);the main factor affecting the attitude score are the departments: Department of Oncology(β=0.157,P<0.05),Department of Rehabilitation Medicine(β=0.177,P<0.05),position: head nurse(β=0.112,P<0.05),the department has developed this technology(β=0.300,P<0.05);the main factors affecting practice score are the departments : Department of Neurology(β=0.052,P<0.05),Department of Oncology(β=0.051,P<0.05),Department of Rehabilitation Medicine(β=0.065,P<0.05),title: nurse-in-charge(β=0.105,P<0.05),and associate chief nurse and above title(β=0.080,P<0.05),implement this operation(β=0.935,P<0.05),knowledge score(β=0.464,P<0.001),attitude score(β=0.137,P<0.01).Conclusions:1.This study constructed a questionnaire on the status of nurses’ knowledge, attitude, and practice of intermittent oral tube feeding, which has good reliability and validity and can be used as a tool for medical institutions to investigate the status of nurses’ knowledge, attitude, and practice of intermittent oral tube feeding.2.The overall score of knowledge, belief and practice of intermittent oral tube feeding among nurses in Grade 3A Hospital of Hubei Province are relatively low,of which the attitude is better, the knowledge and practice are poor.3.In the general information of nurses, the department, job category, participation in training, implementation of this operation, and departments that have developed this technology are factors that affect the total score of nurses’ knowledge, attitude, and practice of intermittent oral tube feeding.Nurses’ knowledge of intermittent oral tube feeding is related to the department, participating in training, performing this operation, and department’s development of this technology;in terms of attitude,it is related to the department, job category, and department’s development of this technology.in terms of practice,it is related to the department, job title, and the implementation of this operation. In addition, practical aspect is also affected by knowledge and attitude scores.
