| Objective: To assess the diagnostic value of trefoil factor 3(TFF3)and the correlation between TFF3 expression and clinicopathological features in patients with gastric cancer(GC).Methods: The databases of Pub Med,The Cochrane,EMbase,Web of Science,Wanfang,Weipu, and CNKI were retrieved without time limit to identify eligible studies. All data were analysed using Stata 12.0 software.Correlative indicators like the sensitivity and specificity, positive likelihood ratio(PLR),negative likelihood ratio(NLR),diagnostic odds ratio(DOR),and area under curve(AUC)were calculated. Results: twenty-nine articles including 5160 subjects were collected in our study, most of which come from Asia areas. For the diagnostic value of serum TFF3 in GC,the sensitivity, specificity,PLR,NLR,DOR,and AUC were 0.75,0.81,3.9,0.31,13,and 0.84,respectively.For the clinicopathological value of TFF3,the pooled results indicated that patients with tissue TFF3 expression are positively correlative with lymph node metastasis and the depth of tumor invasion,as well as worse TNM stage and histological type respectively. However,no apparent relationship was found between TFF3 expression and venous invasion,as well as peritoneal metastasis. Conclusions: As a kind of simple and feasible diagnostic method, serum TFF3 detection shows a high diagnostic accuracy for GC in the included studies.Besides,TFF3 expression is associated with disease progression and tumor metastasis closely in GC patients. However, more studies from other areas outside Asia are needed to further evaluate it in the future. |
