Since 2020,the outbreak of COVID-19 has become the most high-profile public health emergency in China and even the world.How to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic is a topic that global health institutions must deal with today,and vaccination is the most direct and effective way to prevent and control the epidemic.After the outbreak,the Chinese government actively developed COVID-19 vaccines and took a leading role in the global response,making China’s contribution to the global response and scientifically and timely containing the transmission of the Novel Coronavirus.As a central-level media,People’s Daily led the audience to rationally understand vaccines through professional reports during the epidemic.Health News,the earliest professional health newspaper in China,focuses on health and provides the public with an in-depth understanding of COVID-19 vaccine from the perspective of health communication.A comparative analysis of the two will play a positive role in improving China’s vaccine coverage rate and improving the overall situation of the epidemic.Starting from the perspective of health communication,the specific situation of COVID-19 vaccine reports was studied in People’s Daily and Health News.Under the condition of using the theory of framework,a comparison of the two media,summed up the COVID-19 vaccine issues reported the status quo,to find out the two media reported in the COVID-19 vaccine that exist in the similarities and differences and the general law,To analyze the situation of COVID-19 vaccine coverage and areas to be discussed,and then improve the effective path of COVID-19 vaccine coverage and promotion.The study found that the reports on COVID-19 vaccine of People’s Daily and Health News mainly showed the following characteristics: In terms of high-level framework,People’s Daily mainly focused on the government governance framework,while Health News focused on the popular science solution framework,and the two reported different topics in focus.The genre focuses on the use of information.In terms of the mid-level framework,news sources in People’s Daily are mainly domestic and foreign government agencies and international organizations,and people are in a weak discourse position.News sources in Health News show a trend of diversification,citing a large number of "experts" information sources.The similarities lie in the fact that the two media show relatively stereotyped characteristics on macro level,and the news graphics are relatively fixed.In terms of the low-level framework,the language of People’s Daily has the problem of insufficient vividness,which is embodied in the simple rhetoric devices and fixed presentation methods of the headlines;In terms of the use of news pictures,the frequency of the use of pictures in Health News is low.The tendency of both reports is mainly neutral and positive.From the perspective of health communication,it can be found that the common problems existing in the two media include fixed reporting mode and low attention to mental health.The difference lies in the fact that the layout of People’s Daily is relatively single and there is homogeneity in the use of pictures,while Health News has the problem of general reporting objects,and the communication effect needs to be improved.In conclusion,there is still room for improvement in the coverage of COVID-19 vaccine in People’s Daily and Health News.
