Research On The Presentation Of Public Health Issues In People’s Daily Study (2015-2021)

With the rapid development of China’s economy and the improvement of people’s living standards,"health" has become a topic of public concern as the basis for the public to achieve a high quality of life.In this thesis,755 news reports on public health issues in People’s Daily from 2015 to 2021 were selected as the research objects,and the characteristics of public health issues in mainstream media were studied by using content analysis and case study method.The content of the news reports was divided into five areas: society and policy,prevention and treatment,popular science,scientific research,and disinformation,etc.Through the analysis of the number of reports,the order of reports,the number of pages,and the characteristics of reports on public health issues,we observed that People’s Daily,as an important newspaper media in China,was close to the topic,the continuity of content,and the "treating the disease" concept and "prevention-oriented" in its reports.The analysis shows that People’s Daily,as an important newspaper in China,presents its public health issues in terms of the closeness of the selected topics,the continuity of the content,and the concept of "treating the disease" and "prevention-oriented" in its reports.In addition,we analyze data on specific public health issues such as chronic disease prevention and treatment,Chinese medicine,health emergencies,and food safety,summarize the direction and shortcomings of the coverage of specific public health issues,discuss the focus and public nature of People’s Daily’s coverage of public health issues and its impact,and analyze the characteristics,impact,and influence of People’s Daily’s coverage of public health issues in conjunction with research data.The study also analyzes the characteristics,impacts and limitations of the coverage of public health issues by People’s Daily,and takes a comprehensive view of the communication strategy of People’s Daily on public health issues,so that the coverage of public health issues in China can be optimized and developed.
