Objective:To observe the efficacy of intense pulsed light(IPL)combined with mucopolysaccharide cream in the treatment of facial acne vulgaris, and to evaluate the feasibility and safety of this method. Methods:Methods from February 2021 to December 2021,62 patients with facial acne vulgis admitted to the Dermatology Department of The Affiliated Hospital of North China University were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into two groups:experimental group(n=30),treated with intense pulsed light(IPL)combined with MUCopolysaccharides cream, treated with intense pulsed light once a week,a total of 4 times.During the treatment,MPS cream was applied externally on the face, twice a day.Control group(n=32),patients were treated with intense pulsed light(IPL)once a week for 4 times.Basic situation understanding of patients before treatment to the patient and careful account note signed informed consent, thoroughly clean the patient before every treatment of facial skin and retain facial image information using a digital camera, before each treatment by the specialist is responsible for the digital camera taking pictures, and record the patients’skin changes, according to the skin changes before and after the treatment the curative effect judgment,The final efficacy was evaluated at the end of treatment;Evaluate the adverse reactions during treatment. Results:After 4 times of treatment, the recovery rates of the experimental g roup and the control group were 16.67%and 9.38%respectively(x~2=0.733,P=0.392),and the total effective rates were 66.67%and 34.38%respectively(x~2=7.349,P=0.045<0.05,statistically significant). The curative effect of ex perimental group is better than control group. There were 14 and 17 patient s with grade II facial acne in the experimental group and control group, res pectively. The recovery rates were 21.43%and 11.76%(x~2=0.056,P=0.821),and the total effective rates were 78.57%and 41.18%(x~2=4.458,P=0.032<0.05,Statistically significant). There were 16 and 15 patients with grade III f acial acne in the experimental group and control group, respectively. The re covery rates were 12.50%and 6.67%(x~2=0.301,P=0.583),and the total effe ctive rates were 56.25%and 26.67%(x~2=2.783,P=0.045<0.05,Statistically s ignificant). The efficacy of intense pulse light combined with MPS cream in patients with grade II and III acne severity was better than that of intense pulse light group. There were no significant differences in recovery rate(x~2=0.027,P=0.87)and total effective rate(x~2=0.82,P=0.365)between grade II and Grade III patients in the experimental group. There were no significant differences in recovery rate(x~2=0.244,P=0.621)and total response rate(x~2=0.24,P=0.625)between grade II and Grade III patients in the control group.Experimental group and control group in facial treatment in patients with ac ne vulgaris have a slight tingling, but all can tolerate, respectively in the t wo groups in 1 case and 8 cases of burning pain and mild erythema after treatment, the control group there are 6 cases with skin dry desquamation, adverse reactions occurred were obviously lower than controls(x~2=4.878,P=0.027<0.05,with statistical significance). No serious adverse events were o bserved, such as ulceration, infection, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, atrophy or scarring, and treatment was not discontinued.Conclusion:1.The effect of intense pulse light combined with MPS cream on facial acne vulgaris was better than that of intense pulse light.2.There was no significant difference in the total effective rate and recovery rate between gradeⅱand grade III facial acne patients in the intense pulse light combined with MPS cream group and the intense pulse light group.3.The number of adr cases in high pulse light combined with MPS cream group was significantly lower than that in high pulse light group.
